Congratulations, artemis!! You're closing in on Master!
Jenny/The First: Hmm. You think you can fight me? I'm not a demon, little girl. I am something that you can't even conceive. The First Evil. Beyond sin, beyond death. I am the thing the darkness fears. You'll never see me, but I am everywhere. Every being, every thought, every drop of hate.
BUFFY: (loses her patience) Alright, I get it. You're evil. Do we have to chat about it all day?
i agree with everyone about veronica's most important relationships being with keith and wallace. part of why i felt so sorry for logan at the end of this episode was because veronica seems to be tied for his most important relationship - and possibly most important of all at the moment, since duncan fled town (seemingly without a word to anyone, including his supposed best friend), and since we haven't been shown onscreen whether logan has opened up as much about his mom and some other important things to duncan as he has to veronica. someone once said to me, while going through a particularly devastating break-up, that it's very risky to have your closest friend and your romantic partner be the same person, since if something goes horribly wrong, you lose both in one fell swoop. that sentiment seemed especially poignant to me as i watched logan sitting alone on the boat, the camera angle making it look like he was drifting off alone to sea.
What you've posted really hits on something I hadn't thought of. We talk about how Veronica started so isolated and cut off at the start of the season (the exception being her father) and how she's slowly built up relationships over time (Wallace, Weevil, Mac, Megan, Logan, etc.).
But Logan, while we thought of him as popular '09er with a group of buddies, turns out to be switching places with her. Now he is the one with virtually no one. I mean, Dick and Beaver don't strike me as real confidant kind of guys, Duncan is gone, and his family . . . well.
Add in Veronica learning the news about the drug. Hmmm. He could end up being as shunned and "outside" as she was at the start.

that's exactly what i've been thinking. i thought the cinematography at the end of this episode captured that idea perfectly.
"It's like a song. Now, I can hold a note for a long time--actually, I can hold a note forever. But eventually that's just noise. It's the change we're listening for. The note coming after, and the one after that. That's what makes it music."

I agree - Veronica really has alot of people she can confide in. Logan is basically all alone - especially if he doesn't have Veronica.
And this will really kick in if Aaron had anything to do with the murder.
Dean: Who are you? Castiel: I'm the one who gripped you tight and raised you from Perdition. Dean: Yeah, thanks for that.
I'm not really sure where to put this post. For those who actually wanted to watch the extended trailer rather than just look at the screencaps, you can get it here:
I'll take it down after tonight's episode but it'll be up there until then. This is NOT the opening scene found on UPN's website. This is just a longer trailer than what aired on UPN after the show.
ETA: Ok, the link is bad now... sorry 'bout that. I needed to make room on my server.

Excellent review! I'm sorry that I did not post this earlier.
I loved all the recurring imagery you pulled out. And Eetah about Veronica having to make some choices similar to Carmen's soon.
I'm sorry that I don't have much more to add. I've only been able to watch the episode once, and that was before I read your review. So all I can say, pretty much, is "Oooh! I think you're right!"

Linda, sorry excuse for a minion this week.
Well, I'm a sorry excuse for a hellgoddess, because it took me the better part of the month to notice your post. I may have to smite myself.
I've fallen out of the habit of writing reviews (I kept wanting to analyze the episode instead), so I kept it really short succinct...
And no more funnel cakes! We want full time Linda! WE miss you!
Mycroft: Just once, can you two behave like grown-ups? John: We solve crimes. I blog about it, and he forgets his pants. I wouldn't hold out too much hope.
Wonder what Keith will say when he learns that Weevil helped out?
Aaron's at class? Is he for real?
OMG, they are hot.
Aaron interrupts. Ew. And he actually seems to be pretty decent about the whole thing.
Aaron can be "difficult" from time to time
Sleezeball. And he gets his comeuppance. #rofl1#
#rofl1# #rofl1# A little scary. Yeah.
Neptune Swingles
Oy. Classic excuses.
So what did Aaron hear about Veronica's parents? Divorce etc.
At least now it's over. No more waiting for the bomb to drop.
No more surprises. Yeah, right.
12/7/03 was the date of Shelly Pomroy's party.
A dimly lit conference room. Ominous.
Ah, the bug in the plant. Yikes.
Hee and he gets duct taped.
Yep, he's scum all right.
GHB. Logan supplied it. Roadblocks all around.
Cassidy makes his first appearance in the episode where the rape plot really gets going.
Leto II: We're about to go through the crucible, but we'll come out the other side. We always arise from our own ashes. Everything returns later in its... changed form.
