Oh Lord. A TWoP shout out. Also: Hey! I was right! Also, yes you were. You first called it back when you watched the opener earlier in the week, though.

Oh, I totally missed the TWoP shout out this time. It was the poster when V's talking to D. Oh, sorry, yes I knew what it was - I just wasn't watching the scene because I kept forgetting where it was in the episode.

Aw, I'm such a sucker for that line. "Always have. Always will." (QAF flashback there, wonderfull scene with Mikey and Brian. **sniff, sniff**) Oh, damn. Keith's gonna figure it out. Veronica is soo sooo soooooo dead. Not good not good. Oh, the "little daddy daughter time" line is just too painful. Damn. Things coming home to roost for Wallace too. OK, the theme is officially "doing the right thing" isn't it? So, is Lamb gonna have an opportunity to "do the right thing" too?

Good Lordie, and how much do I LOVE that they brought SEAN back! So perfect! Fixing that Felix was with the Fitzs? I seriously don't buy it... Haha. I saw that there, Michael. Just a wee bit overacting there. And OH DAMN. SHOCKER TWIST! Nope, still drives me nuts. RT is indeed mean. Giving us what we want and then taking it away, just like that! And a Pulse trailer. Go KB! Oh, hey Shannon, it's the hit on her card that clues him in... so much for my idea of him knowing about the apartment next door. My sucky memory strikes again. Oh, also, earlier in the episode when she's by herself and her lip trembles like she's gonna cry? I got it this time, it's still viewer manip but I think it could legitmately be because she's tricking her father and he's being so nice and trusting right there so it's not Duncan she's tearing up over - it's what she's doing to Keith.

Oh, Lamb's moaping. I love it.
Oh, the funny Lamb scenes, with the crazy camera angles and zooms and macho sheriff music. Hehe.
Guy from Chicago. Oh, shit, I wish they wouldn't bring this into things. Don't they already have enough going on?
Oh, and here comes my favorite scene in the whole ep. Rico freakin' ROCKS THE HOUSE with this Veronica and Keith scene. Good God. Best performance he's ever done, EASY.

"I would not survive without you." Oh she's really broken things with her dad. Of course Keith fixed the bathroom wall. And of course Felix was involved with another really really wrong girl. Unless he was doing it just to get back at the Fitzpatricks. Damn, is that a song by X? Love that band!! Ha!!!! Lamb drove Duncan across the border! And PI man helped along with the disgruntled illegitimate daugher nanny!! #rofl1# This is too perfect!

Grrr. I still don't get it. WHY is Astrid there? And why is she dressed just like Veronica? Lilly! Grr. Also, "she thinks you're Veronica"... poor Meg, gets no love.

Mornin' Sam. Mornin' Ralf. !!!!!!!!!! I am now officially in love. ;D Also? Love love love all the scenes with Weevil. Or Weevil and Logan. Felix's big brother was . . . killed by the Fitzpatricks? Oh, Wallace. "You'd have done the right thing." Followed by Duncan saying he's doing the right thing. A theme here . . . So, Duncan and V knew that the phone would be tapped / traced. Ah - yes. They really did, didn't they. Weevil and Logan...OTP! Is Veronica doing the right thing? SHe looked kind of "meh" when he said that. Totally OTP!! ;D Heck, I'm grateful for every scene with them together 'cuz I can hope it spawns more fic. On a more serious note, I agree about how Veronica looked. She's not totally sure it was the right thing, no matter what she said to dad.

Hmm...do the Lost numbers mean they are all doomed? Was that "Johnny Hit and Run Pauline"? Because that would be wicked disturbing.

Hmm...do the Lost numbers mean they are all doomed? Was that "Johnny Hit and Run Pauline"? Because that would be wicked disturbing. OK, I'm quoting myself, because I've had further thoughts. I can't review the episode right now because I'm taping something else. However, the song in Mexico sound a lot like the X song I mentioned above. Which is about rape and assault. So...do the music choices matter? Are they part of the text of the show? If so, what is Thomas saying here by using that song? My thoughts, my interpretation, is that he is not viewing the V/D relationship as "forever love" that Veronica interprets it as. If so, why chose a song about rape, when that's how Veronica viewed their "first" time. Generally, lying to a parent, a good parent like Keith, is not the sign of a healthy relationship, is not a relationship that brings out your best self. Just idle thoughts, completely contingent on whether or not it was that song.

Now that I can finally talk about this episode....
I still have questions about whether Celeste and/or Logan were in on it. Celeste is much more a question than Logan. I'm pretty convinced he was not in on it but that makes me hate that V/D didn't include him (except for the part where he doesn't need to be in anymore trouble with the law - but why wouldn't the FBI question him, they are suitemates??) but also because I don't think we've ever been shown that Logan would go running to Dick with gossip about Duncan. Maybe with gossip about Veronica but never Duncan, who he considers his best friend. It's a bitter pill for me to swallow. I felt like it was a manipulation of Logan's character just for the point of this story and I don't like it.
I am unsure about Celeste's involvement because I'm not sure how else to explain Astrid being there or why, even, Astrid would be there. Plus, while I know Vinnie wasn't brought in on it until the moment in the van where Veronica hands him the letter, I still feel like Celeste even hiring him would be a setup for that. Not to mention, I find it hard to believe Celeste wouldn't want that baby... just for societal reasons, I think she'd want to have a hand in raising it.
All that aside, I actually do like this episode - something I wasn't expecting. I agree with Erin that the V/D is - FOR THEM - a true love, high school romance and that's totally what is happening in this episode. I have some issues with the fact that Veronica lets him get away with pretty much everything as a result of the way she idealizes him and their love but that's because I've been there and can see where she's going to look back on it and see things differently in ten years. In this moment, it's very believable that she'd be feeling and reacting this way.
You know, I thought I was going to have a problem with the way Duncan looks like a knight in shining armor here. I don't. The way I see it, it's Veronica's view of him. No one else in the show is viewing him that way but it's ok that that's how he comes off because we see with Veronica's eyes and, if what he's done before hasn't changed her view of him, that's exactly how she'd see this...
I do have an issue with the damn fortune cookie message but mostly because I feel like it's ... a complication for later stories. I will never feel safe about any of Veronica's future relationships because of the open ending we have between Duncan and Veronica. At any point in the future, he can show back up and screw things all to hell... all because of the way we see her viewing their relationship through that fortune cookie. But, that's my issue... from the writer's perspective it is a good thing because there are options for the future.

Good Lordie, and how much do I LOVE that they brought SEAN back! So perfect! Fixing that Felix was with the Fitzs? I seriously don't buy it... Maybe not with them, maybe . . . just liking her? Or getting revenge? So, he was killed because they didn't like him dating one of them maybe? Or maybe because he was dating her he learned too much about what another gang member was doing? I missed it too.
