Parts 4,5, and 6 have all been posted to the S'cubie Website. Nan, excellent stuff here! I just read them all and I am properly in Buffy mood for tonight! If I have to comment on anything, it would have to be on how well you capture Dawn's voice. Somehow, whenever I read her dialogue or her thoughts they just seem to ring very true. I can see her in my mind's eye. Nan's Old Blood can be found in the Fanfictional! area.

Read the post, Deadboy. I never said nothin' about kissin' no undead. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

"Here it is again: say I'm full of no grace (what the hell does that mean anyway?) and I will kick you so hard, you won't be able to walk for a few days. Questions? ;-)" No grace, huh? Fear not Lee, in 11th grade I asked my French teacher (quite discreetly I might add) if I could go to the bathroom. She said no. I told her "I really have to go." She still said no. I said "I really REALLY have to go" and I (again discreetly) showed her the tip of a tampon in my pocket. She gaped a disgusted "You have no class!" at me and threw a huge metal hall pass at my head. It left a mark. We're quite a pair, no grace and no class. Ah well, all she ever did was drink in class anyway.

You mean you're not ALWAYS in proper Buffy mood? And here I was thinking that that was the one thing we all had in common! :-) Mary

What IS that vamp's name? By the way, I happen to think Nick is remarkably good as a vamp. Alyson was just such a revelation as a bad girl that Joss immediately wrote Doppelgangland for her, sort of leaving Nick's performance behind. We'd seen his darker side in The Pack, so it wasn't as much of a shock to the audience. Another part I really like is the way Alyson lays one on him right before they vamp out for the first time. Whenever I watch The Wish now I hope Alexis Denisof doesn't have his tv on, because that kiss is seriously hot.

Yes, that would be me. I am going and very much looking forward to meeting up with Miss Pamela there. However we will be segregated for all major events being as she has the Gold Pass and I only the Silver. Ohhhh, I forgot to tell you guys that ASH cancelled out due to filming conflicts. So my second favorite guest I was really looking forward to seeing and hearing won't be there. Well, we all know that it could have been worse. The rules for the event expressly forbid recording devices so I'm not sure whether I'll dare to bring one along. I may have to rely on my memory and notes if I have the presence of mind to take them and the taking of them does not interfere with the experience. Since I don't own a digital camera I'm hoping to borrow one. Otherwise it will just be my cheapo Target point & shooter. But I did by the fancy HD Kodak film for the occasion so I hope I'll get some half decent pictures out of it. I'm very nervous. I have no present to give him. I couldn't think of anything special I could give him. I'll just have to be content giving him my heart felt gratitude and good wishes deborah cohen

RW, I'm amazed those are still kicking around someplace. Unfortunately family relationships, either ill or well perceived, were not the flavor of the day when those books came out and the series ended at three in the US. However, being the stubborn sod I am, I completed the final two books and they were published in France, Holland, and Belgium (in translation). The fourth book is all about Pedross (YOU remember Pedross, don't you?) TIDESTORM LIMIT; the fifth book, THE SUN OF RETURN, is back to Jannus and the Shai, and what becomes of the Valde. I may have them on my oldest computer upstairs--I don't know. Next time I'm up there, I'll take a look for them and see if I still have copies (I have the Dutch etc. edition but it wouldn't be much good to you unless you read Dutch, as I do not). If I do, I'll send them to you, zipped; if I don't, they're just gone. I'll let you know and remind me if I forget. S'cubies, you may be amused to know my first book, originally entitled The King of Kantmorie, retitled by said Don Wollheim (I never DID like the man, though he became fairly legendary in SF publishing) as Pursuit of the Screamer, was my dissertation. I always said I was probably the only person who'd ever had their dissertation published in as a garish paperback with "Brak the Barbarian and his girlfriend" on the cover. I always have been a xenophile, in love with aliens and alien ways of thinking, imagining my way into them.... RW, please don't be too impressed (or anybody else, either, though I hope the old-time S'cubies are less inclined to such). I'm only me, Nan the S'cubie, and proud to be the designated janitor of the noble Van Helsing Institute for the Study of Nosferology. Typos and all. Nan

Nan, they are still a good read. I go back and re-read them every couple years, but then I also re-read my favorite mysteries every time a new one in the series comes out. What can I say, I like books with well-drawn people who grow and change and do dumb things and learn... Which of course is why we all like Buffy, isn't it. You're right, the cover of Screamer was pretty silly, but I didn't buy it for the cover, I bought it because it looked interesting (and it was, and so were the other two). So there, you have a fan, whether you like it or not (teasing, teasing)! Enjoy Buffy; I'll look forward to reading all the Scubie comments in the morning, and maybe adding a few of my own.

Until all-new Buffy! Just had to say that. Been crazed with preparing to move, and trying to find a fourth person to live in my happy household. Anyone know anyone who's looking for a home in the Metro NY/CT area?
