OK. So last week I said Tigh was loosing it. That was before I saw this week. He is officially Over. The. Edge.
And, um, don't they have a nifty Cylon testing thing-ee now that they could use on the Chief? Or can only Baltar run it?
Eeeeeep! No shooting of Helo and Starbuck!

#duh# I forgot they'd think the cylon detector thing doesn't work, 'cuz he didn't tell them about Boomer.
Six and Tigh's wife are a fine pair, aren't they? Six with her pouting about the phrase "toaster" and Mrs. Tigh being all faux nicey nice. "Bill may never get back on his feet." And "Isn't that kind of wishy-washy touchy-feely." And "You handle it the way you want. I'm sure they'll respect that . . . eventually."
Plus - standoff at the OK corral.

Well. It got ugly alright. And Roslin's not wrong about what she sees could happen. Things continue to splinter further, people break away, weaken the group so that the cylons can simply pick them off as easy targets. But why do I feel nervous about the plan to escape and hide and rally support among the people? And why do I think a nice fine mutiny is brewing as well? On the other hand, Starbuck slays me with her quipping! ;D

Well DAYUM! I mean . . . Huh. And the drop of blood to . . . make us compare human and cylon? Boomer assassinated?! And we have a number of the cylons on board! And Adama! And . . . Woah.

That drop of blood at the end mixing with the chief's drop of blood from before. Very 'woah'. /Sharon has a neat part. She can die lots of ways and come back again./ It'll be interesting to see what the pregnant Sharon does. Looks like a little hanky panky might be in the offing for Kara and that guy on the planet. Do you think they are all really human? It'd be an interesting twist if Kara fell for a Cylon after all her talk. I was shocked to see Adama at the end, but loved how he accepted Tigh, no matter how much he fracked everything up. Now the show will really begin!

I always felt that he didn't buy into her 'holyness'. Who do you think is going to mutiny?

They are soooo wanting to get happy together. ;D Love how we're seeing two different (or is it three or four? ) resistances. The one on Caprica. The president on Galactica and the unrest with the different civilians and within the military. One could even add in whatever Baltar is doing and the cylon plan itself. I loved Adama at the end! EJO did a stunning job with that scene. So weak, so lost, so understanding and standing by Tigh (although when he finds out the full impact, I think he'll still stand by him publically but I wonder what he'll really think of him inside). 'Cuz, yeah - Mrs. Tigh is a manipulator first class, but he's also a full grown adult himself. And he knows what she's trying to do. But he's still the one who did the actions out of his own insecurities and fears.

Like the guy who didn't tell about the unauthorised communications, even though he knew about them.

Wisteria has a really fun and interesting description of her reaction to watching "Resistance". I will say that one or two sentences could be considered mildly spoilery, when she quotes RM and his thoughts on this ep but also some hints for the future. You are hereby warned! www.livejournal.com/users/wisteria_/523042.html#cutid1

Finally managing to put some comments together regarding your review, havoc. Life has been a bit too crazy lately, eh?
You selected the perfect opening line for this review.
Because this really is the episode where we see just how looney Tigh can be. I also agree that the goings on in the brig, while not apparently as important to the immediate plot, are very important in the long run.
It's interesting. When I first watched this ep, I felt much as you that the Caprica storyline was . . . perhaps a bit distracting and perhaps not really needed here. Yet looking back over the episodes to come, I see that the secondary story on Caprica is not only important in setting the stage for the next episode but also in commenting on the events unfolding on Galactica. Issues of civilians and military - guerrilla fighting versus direct confrontation - tension around leadership within a small group - etc.
Anyway, sorry to be so late with my comments, but thanks for another interesting review, havoc!
