Did anybody else watch the blurb at the end that was cut from the scene between Helo and Adama? Yeah- what the heck was that all about? Would've made him seem less than a hero to keep it in? Oh, I would have thought just the opposite! I thought it was right of Helo to come clean with Adama. And it's not like Adama doesn't know - or heavily suspect - who did it anyway. If he really DID want to know for sure, he'd already know by now and have done something about it Maybe that was the point of leaving that part out. It also gave the very deliberate salue Helo gave Adama at the end a bit more weight. To me, it said "You're the commander, no matter what, and I want you to know that I recognize that."

Did anybody else watch the blurb at the end that was cut from the scene between Helo and Adama? Yeah. And I'm kinda . . . why have it be a deleted scene? If there are going to be consequences from Adama knowing that he killed the cylon prisoners, then we needed to have the scene for it to make sense. And if they're not going to have consequences, then why have the scene at all? Unless they meant it to be one more "Helo is an outsider, siding 'too much' with the Cylons, not helping the humans enough" etc .etc. And so it adds to the general theme but isn't needed, per se.

I like Helo for doing the "right thing" no matter what. He's a little raw yet, but I think he'd make a good Commander eventually. I hope Adama recognizes this in him. I also liked Helo snapping at Sharon about how he's "not just the guy who married a Cylon". Also the way he didn't let her use the "every day I have to prove myself" line which is starting to sound a little tired. And I liked how it showed what his outstanding characteristic is. Not necessarily always "siding with the outsiders", like Tigh said. But rather always seeing more than others are willing to see. Being willing to ask the questions that others won't, see more than just the standard accepted "truth". And then having the guts to say what is not popular if he thinks it is the truth and take action to help those who need it, even at a cost to himself. I mean, it's not like he was starting from a "the Sagitarans are fab" place. He also was not happy with the job he had, didn't really want to deal with them, thought they were wrong to think and act as they did and was rather tired of dealing with them. But he didn't let that get in the way of really looking into things, questioning things, saying what he had discovered and trying to fix things.

I thought it was great that Helo did the right thing. I watched the scene and it was like Adama's apology elicited from Helo total honesty. It was good. I think Helo will make a great commander.

So my first guess would be that this episode is about an Illyria-like character, but I already know that's not the case... Teaser Shirtless Helo. They also get huge quarters. What about the overcrowding issue? Trouble in Agathon-land? Ah, Helo's in charge of the refugee issue. Sort of an Ellis Island thing. "Want to be with our own." Tension between Helo and Tigh. Sagittaron's "don't believe in medicine?" That's a bit heavy handed. Hey, It's That Guy. Some one Tigh knows. That can't be good. Montage of sickness and pain. Is Helo going to go too far this time with his idealism?

Part I
Mike.
Mellorak Sickness
Through the skin? Yikes.
Racial profiling.
Zarek!
So I guess he still is Vice President.
Show trial.
Declare martial law during the trial.
Your best friend, your worst enemy. Heh.
He was truly frightened. Is he thinking of his own incarceration?
*Soma* braid.
Dr. Robert.
Little overdramatic, but yeah.

Part II
Different story from Dr. Robert.
Lee and Dualla seem on good terms this week.
Connor again.
Military isolated from the general populace.
Sagittarons didn't join in the Resistance.
The body and the mind are myths. What?
Athena visits Caprica.
HeadBaltar!!!! Sweet!!!
Does Athena know about Baltar's role in the original attack?
Wanting to be human. Counter to Baltar wanting to be Cylon.
Trick to being human. You have to think only about yourself.
Hee. Trying to figure out Caprica when she's talking to HeadBaltar.
Buckminister?
No consent. Bad Dr. Robert.
So the mother is the woman King. Weird title, though.
Damn! That's awfully short-sited of you Adama, no matter what's going on.
You just like being on the outside looking in, don't you?
If this guy is so well regarded, why haven't we heard of him before?

Part III
Hera's sick? Oh no. Except maybe her being half Cylon will make a difference.
This is moving very slow. Maybe because it's Helo-centric.
Keep ending up on the wrong side of everything.
Punishment.
Oh, Dogsville is the refugee camp.
Bleeding heart, whistleblowing Helo.
Dr. Robert's story checks out.
Dualla's sick. Or is this a sting?
More shirtless Helo! Awesome!!
Marriage to a Cylon issue. All sides. interesting.

Part IV
So it's not a sting.
Why would Dualla go see Dr. Robert instead of Dr. Cottle in the first place?
Why doesn't Dualla want Dr. Cottle to see her?
And I would have gotten away with is too, if it hadn't been for you kids!
This is sort of clunkily written. I'd prefer it if the issues had a little more depth and it didn't go from no one believing Helo to everyone believing him.
However, Dr. Roberts does have some parallels with Roslin's. Such methods are somewhat acceptable in politics but not at all in medicine.

Hi Spring! There's a catch-up video on the Scifi.com website, if you're interested in some background info. Helo (the main character in tonight's episode- the guy in charge of the Saggitarons) - is married to Sharon - a Cylon, who he had to kill to get her to be reborn on the Cylon ship and rescue their daughter - Hera. Well - I had no idea that humans could marry Cylons, much less have kids with them. I guess sex with robots is more common than most people think. Hee! You don't know the half of it.

Dualla, Dead? ok nevermind! ROFL Dude! They really had me scared for a moment there! ;D Seriously. I was really hoping that they weren't going to resolve the Lee/Dualla issues that way.

Okay, first off - was this whole refugee situation a single line that I spaced in an earlier ep or something? Neither Dave nor I could remember WHY Galactica is hosting a refugee camp....

They were overcrowded when they got off New Caprica. I think maybe not all the ships got the ground. They lost Pegasus for sure. Then they lost more ships going through that nebula thing.

That's the first time Caprica has done this - that we've seen. It's kinda shocking! As I understand it he does it cause he is infatuated/in love with Six. Is she as a Cylon gone and fallen in love with Baltar? I think there's more to it than that, personally. When it was just Baltar imagining Six, I figured he was a whack job. But since we started seeing that she also imagines him, and in the same way (pseudo-protective advice giver/taunter), I've started to think there's something else going on here - that these manifestations are due to something other than just overactive hallucinatory imaginations.
