Dee leaving because she understands perfectly well. Yup. That was an excellent moment. Interesting how Roslin can keep up the usual Presidential facade. Other people keep flashing back to thoughts and behaviors from New Caprica. Like their losing their "civilised" "everything is ok" surface and just . . . . breaking down. If it is true that they are tracking that ship, it's not a bad idea. But I have an icky feeling that there's something completely else going on. ;D The whole "weather's changing, Felix. Need to be ready for it. There's a storm coming" thing was scary as all hell. Foreshadowing much? It's in the frakkin' ship . . . . eeeeeeeeep! Run, everyone, run!

my newbie coming through now, what are the chances of Lee being a Cylon? and are the Cylons following the radio signal that Tigh is hearing? I think virtually anyone could turn out to be a cylon at this point. And I am very suspicious of this mysterious song that Tigh is hearing. I suspect all sorts of devious cylon plots.

Dammit, Jeff, you were righter than I was about the split between the two of them. DAMMIT. I STILL wanna slap both Adamas. Bitch-slap the whole lot of 'em, I say!! Then lock them in a room together until they stop getting on their respective high-horses and listen to each other and to reason.

Same, I suppose, as the rest of them. (Meaning, I have no frackin' clue - and I've been watching from the beginning. ) That's a good theory about the radio signal. I wonder why it sometimes sounds like music and only a few of them can hear it. Beamed at certain people? Or some people more sensitive to it? Or some people are cylons and hear it, or have cylon things implanted that are affected by it? Or maybe some folks are just going stark raving mad.

That was my thinking as I went to bed last night—only cylons can hear the music, the same way only dogs can hear dog whistles.

That was Dave's theory - that some of the folks who were held by the Cylons had a tracking device of some sort implanted in their heads, and for some reason it makes them hear this music. Also, we now both doubt that Hera's blood had directly to do with Roslin's miraculous remission the first time around. Of course, the appropriate experiment would be to have another transfusion and see if it works again.

I put this is in the wrong episode thread, so I'm re-posting: Hey, am I nuts, or does Baltar NOT have a beard when he's in Six's brain, but does have a beard otherwise? The beard doesn't look fake, so I wonder how they do that. If it IS fake, then I wish their hairpiece person worked for Veronica Mars, because then Tim Foyle's wig might have looked a lot more natural. The only thing I can think of is that they filmed the scenes with BaltarInSixsBrain as an afterthought, and Callis had already shaved.

Maybe they CGI the beard out for the BalterinSixsBrain scenes.

Well, I hate to be the one to point this out...and someone might have done later on, anyway...but Baltar isn't actually guilty of any of the things he's charged with, IMO. He didn't deliberately lead the Cylons to New Caprica, he didn't voluntarily hand the remains of humanity over to Cylon rule, he didn't voluntarily order any deaths...everything he did on New Caprica was under extreme duress. He's complicit in the near-annihilation of his own species, but he's not charged with that. I mean, what would Roslin have done? I know, not settle in the first place. But that was democracy - people elected Baltar in part because they wanted to settle. So, that's done. Then the Cylons find you a year later. If you're president and the Cylons turn up with a "live under our rule or be wiped out" offer, what do you do? If you've got a gun to your head, and they want you to sign a death order - yeah, maybe you should let them shoot you. But it's very hard to make a moral judgement about that until you've had the gun to your head and the choice to make. We judge Baltar harshly because we know him, and he always chooses self-interest. He's also a huge coward. But...nevertheless, any "collaborating" he did was under duress. On New Caprica. Calling him "tyrant" and whatnot was hyperbole of the worst order - he wasn't, in fact, tyrannical. At all. So, IMO, Baltar SHOULD walk, at this trial. They haven't yet tried him for things he actually did that were truly voluntary crimes. Baltar's trial seems like a more sophisticated, public version of the privately-held airlocking "trials" right after the New Caprica rescue. *lots of issues about 100% rightness/wrongness on both human an Cylon side skipped due to time constraints* Where is Gaeta as witness to the fact that Baltar signed the execution order with a gun to his head? That would seem to me to be a hell of a lot more relevant than Madame President's cancer treatment.

What if Hera is too old for it to work now and they don't have any more baby-Hera blood from when it did work? <edit> Um...no valid experiment, I suppose.

That would seem to me to be a hell of a lot more relevant than Madame President's cancer treatment. But I don't think Gaeta was there at the gun to the head part. The cylon skin jobs were, I think, pretty clever in their handling of things. Only they really know how much of Baltar's actions were done under duress or threat to his life. And taking him along on their ship just seemed to confirm the impression they carefully crafted that he was completely on board. (Rather than just . . . weak and venal and playing both sides against the middle.) This is why the cylons wanted Baltar alive and their figurehead, I think. A way to control him, perhaps? The humans hate you and will kill you, so you'll have to help us? Only now, the skin jobs that are mostly in charge don't think he has a purpose for them anymore, so they don't care if he dies.

Teaser
Opera House
Wow, Mary McDonnell's even more beautiful when she cleans up.
Roslin's guilty conscience? Her fears?
Wait, no usual credit sequence?
Trying to bait the Cylons
radio from the 50s?
music only Anders and Tigh can hear?
so Tory's out for blood. It's gonna be a damn show trial, unless there's a coup or something.
trouble finding a lawyer to represent the government?
Baltar's dressed in black now.
she wants Baltar to bless her son? WTF??
Baltar denies that he's god-like. He's always thought that was at least guided by God though, right?
celebrity trials invariably bring out the crazies. Yep.
Here's the pumping up of his ego. He's gotten HeadSix to do it.

Part I
the trailing raptor.
Lawyers doing their thing.
How do we measure loss.
2 years ago? Referencing the beginning of settlement on New Caprica.
The Whiteboard of Doom!
So they are trying to put the whole New Caprica experiment on his head. kind of distorting things, at least as far as they know.
5, 197.
Baltar's choice. That's valid. Not enough for death.
All together now: Throw 'em out the airlock!!
Putting Roslin on trial.
Arguing in favor of giving in without a fight?
Cylons show up, just in time for the finale.
Referring to Six and "thing" and "it." Carefully, strategically, on Adama's part.
What did Lee notice?
Tracking the fuel ship.
Yep, HeadBaltar is beardless.
I think Tricia Helfer needs to join the eat-a-sandwich club.
Destroying the one you love. Good times.

Part II
Oh, no. Don't bring up Ellen. Or be drunk when you're on the witness stand. Ah, trying to put the blame for Ellen's death on Baltar.
Gonna be airing all the dirty laundry.
"Exception" instead of "objection."
Is this music akin to the jeopardy theme?
Tigh confesses.
Referring to Baltar as a thing now too.
Anders seems to be doing better. I forgot to think about that before.
Tory is dominant professionally and submissive personally?
Tory hears the music too.
Lee believes in the system. Wonder if he still would if he knew the how corrupt it was.
To tell or not to tell.
Dammit, tell us!
