//I'm sure it was someone profound like George Washington or Pee Wee Herman.//
You do know that Pee Wee was in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, right? I don't think George was, but Pee Wee sure was.
G'night Betsy.

//NO!! You did not just give me a CHIP's reference!! OHMYGOD!!!//
I told you, stick with me and you'll know the references. Everyone else can quote Checkov if they want -- and no, I don't mean the Russian guy on Star Trek. I'll be quoting Chips and Steve Martin.

David said: '"We shall now read from the 3rd Book of the Slayer, where Buffy sayeth unto William, also known as Spike, Thou shalt not toucheth me as thou hast no soul. And then William shall earneth his soul and returneth to Buffy. So sayeth the Watchers."
Oooh cool. That is my FAVORITE passage from the Apocrypha!

That's pretty much the entire UK. They seem to think sticking bits of sausage in mashed potatoes warrants a whole unique name, bangers and mash. In America, we could call that bits of sausage in mashed potatoes.

Ellie, David, Betsey, Thanks for your good wishes. Actually, I was craving a tequilla shooter the size of a wastebasket but I had to run a focus group tonite and that's hard to do flat on your face with your head under a chair.
This internet connection is going to cost me $30 bucks, but I don't really care.

I want to emphasize that this is all guesswork. I haven't the first clue whether or not I'm right.
More than once I've posted here that the scene in the car during The Killer In Me had a eerie feeling of a portent.
When Xander, Dawn, Andrew and Anya are talking reference is made by Anya that they are collectively useless: a powerless ex-demon, a teenager and two geeks. Then they discovered that Giles had corporeal form. The scene in the car goes virtually unnoticed. I find it very interesting that all four of them are isolated from their more supernaturally gifted family members.
What if Dawn, worried that she may have injured Xander with the taser, rushes to the hospital, only to find Anya and Andrew wheelchair fighting?
There they would all be. Somehow I think Dawn will be destined to shine here, and rally the normal humans to battle (though Xander would clearly be a co-leader). They will do something crucial and totally unexpected, just like the best of humanity manages to do in real life.
Ok, next wacky speculation. In Get It Done, Buffy is told by the Shadowmen that she is the Hellmouth's last guardian. Interesting choice of words.
We know that guardians watch the Watchers. What else do they do? Is it possible that they CHOOSE Slayers out of the available pool of candidates?
With the death of the guardian at the hands of Caleb, it is feasible to me that Buffy is destined to assume that role. The writers have forever maintained that the Slayer line runs through Faith. If she were to die, another Slayer might have to be chosen.
Back to Get It Done for a second. When Willow is getting Buffy out of that portal where the Shadowmen were, she reached out to the most powerful people around her. I know...I just KNOW...that I saw Dawn go flying along with Kennedy. I saw the ep once, so I could be wrong, of course; but damn if it doesn't seem like I saw Dawnie get zapped.
I think Dawn is a Potential. If Buffy is somehow given the choice to anoint the next Slayer....she won't choose her. She loves her far too much to place that terrible burden on her.
They put so much time into developing Kennedy this year. God help us all, but I think she might pick her.
If I'm right, by the way, I don't want to know. I just wanted to throw this out there.

You do of course realize I'll burn in hell for having even suggested such. Me and the guy who started making all the WWBD jewelry will be sharing a room right off the burning embers pit.

Figure it like this, Rusty. Talking to us and getting totally wasted will both make you feel better. The $30 your spending here is probably cheaper than the booze would be, and we won't give you a hangover in the morning. Ok, Patti might, but the rest of us won't. ;-)
I love you too, Patti.

Alex said: My son is half asian and half caucasian and *I* think he qualifies as gorgeous (there might be a bit of partiality hidden there somewhere.)
Partiality? I don't THINK so. Have you SEEN Keanu Reeves? Or Jet Li? Or Chow Yon Fat? (I got his name wrong but we all know who I mean)
Maybe its my years living in Japan, but I just think Asian people are gorgeous. And that sounded so racist. Sorry. Wasn't meant to.

Rusty, I'm glad you're ok. I can tell that you're still pretty shaken up, but that was a heck of a good piece of driving.
It says a lot about you that you handled it so well, probably almost without thinking. It takes a lot of nerve to handle it that way, even if it seems like you got lucky.
Panicking after the fact is perfectly natural and ok. Avoiding panic during the critical moment itself is pretty impressive.

Everyone is showing off their younguns and it's making me jealous that I can't get mine to post from here because of some sort of lock that Yahoo has on the photo albums. But anyone who wants to see my daughter, here's a link to her most recent school photo. photos.yahoo.com/bc/nolefan32/vwp?.dir=/Yahoo!+Photo+Album&.src=ph&.dnm=Megan+2003.jpg&.view=t&.done=http%3a//photos.yahoo.com/bc/nolefan32/lst%3f%26.dir=/Yahoo!%2bPhoto%2bAlbum%26.src=ph%26.view=t If it doesn't work, sorry.
