Yay! Another win. But I'd prefer a ratio a little higher than 1:2.
Umm. And Oakland won, too. Bugger. They've been sliding almost as badly as the M's.
Rob, kudos to your Twins for the pasting they're currently giving Anaheim.
And Sara - is it you who's got the Rangers tonight?

And by "fans" I mean haters. But first: Yay! Well, we might have if Texas management wasn't stupid. They called a preemptive rain delay EVEN THOUGH IT WASN'T RAINING YET. The storm they were expecting at about 9:30 didn't hit until 10:30, meaning they could have probably played most if not all of the game last night. So now we're just about an hour into another double-header instead. As for Pedro, check out what I got to read about online today from the Boston Globe: "Declaring "enough is enough," Pedro Martinez last night closed the door on contract negotiations with the Red Sox, saying he will enter free agency after the season and play next year where he is wanted, even if it's the Bronx." www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/articles/2004/05/01/martinez_prepared_to_walk/Because even though the team's won 6 in a row, has the best record in baseball for now, and seems to be getting along better than ever, it's still all about Pedro. Asshat.

Shall we make a guess or just try IMing someone?

*wanders in and looks around* So this is what the baseball thread looks like. Pretty nice. And to make it on-topic, the Yankees beat the Royals AGAIN, today

Except even I know the Yankees are evil incarnate. Lola

Double grr arrgh for how the Red Sox are doing today. Lola, my PMs are both sent. Since it's getting late in my neck of the woods, I'm thinking I might head on off to bed. Hope things get back on track soon.

Well, I am technically multitasking and reading fan fic on another window, so I will probably just check back periodically to see what's the what for a while longer. Night night, Sara! Lola

I screwed it up, but on the bright side....there's a Part 162 available for posting.
This is going to get me fired, by the way. Just so y'all know.

Hee! I am having much amusement over this last set of posts. Who knew the Main Board was gonna get so much use out of the baseball thread? We got most of the sports chat off the board, AND a place to run and hide when the board goes wonky. Cool. Mariners still suck. I've figured it out, though - that one week, with the four wins in a row? Two of 'em were against Oakland, who were just starting to stink the place up right about then, too. So, it was a fluke. (And there'll be no more fluking?) Edited to add: Sara and Rob, I'm displeased with BOTH of your teams today.
