Hee! I am having much amusement over this last set of posts. Who knew the Main Board was gonna get so much use out of the baseball thread? We got most of the sports chat off the board, AND a place to run and hide when the board goes wonky. Cool. Mariners still suck. I've figured it out, though - that one week, with the four wins in a row? Two of 'em were against Oakland, who were just starting to stink the place up right about then, too. So, it was a fluke. (And there'll be no more fluking?) Edited to add: Sara and Rob, I'm displeased with BOTH of your teams today. The official statement from B. Boone says it all: "We're all playing like shit." Including even Mr. Ego himself. Julia, who admires B. Boone's fielding, batting, self esteem, and frankness but finds his hair sort of silly.

Julia, guess I should snark on him more often

Which is one reason Pet Rose belongs in the hall of fame... after he dies. Julia, who always loathed Pete Rose, who took Bret Boone's schtick about four steps too far. Plus the whole gambling thing.

Sorry, Dev, but Scott Rolen was just too good. What a great game, though, whichever team you were pulling for.

And as a polar opposite, did any of you folks see clips of yesterday's game in which the Atlanta Braves committed seven errors? I started wondering if Chuck Knoblach was playing infield again...

For some strange reason I haven't been able to get onto mlb.com or any site which branches off that for a week. I think my router needs a reboot or something /me shrugs
I watched the BoSox - Rangers game Sunday (4-1 to Rangers) which was good and I managed to catch us destroy the Cards... apart from that and the Manny R statement I haven't been keeping my eye on the baseball a lot this week.

This is baseball related, so I thought I'd put it here. Tabitha's been watching the Royals play alot lately and right now they're playing Toronto. I walked by and she said "Hey momma, how come Kansas City always has a lower number than the other team?"
I'm sorry this wasn't serious baseball talk, but I thought it was funny.

And baseball hairstyles are serious talk? Very cute.

16 flippersmackin innings, thanks again Eddie...
Sometimes the Twins take their name too seriously: no, it doesn't mean you can have two runners on base, dear.
Sorry, Rob. Not very sorry, though.
Julia, two wins in a row is good, 16 innings is PAINFUL

Hey, Dev, have you tried this site? I don't think it will give you actual downloads but you can at least keep up with the highlights: wgnsuperstation.trb.com/sports/

So, since I've never used him: Numfar, do the dance of joy! Good Freddy tonight! Again! Moderate levels of celebratory activity!

More runs would have been comforting, but a win is a win, and the Freddy show was more than OK. He looked almost as sick as Wes in the eighth, though, sitting in the dugout and watching Myers pitch. Seven innings was all he SHOULD have pitched, as cold as it was last night, but he looked like he was afraid his favorite teddy bear was about to be snatched away. Julia, involuntary awake person

Julia, involuntary awake person I wonder if there's national T.V. for any of the Yankees series? And still they've only managed like two games with both pitching and offense. . .what's it take to make both teams play the same day?
