We haven't had a NerdAlert! since Angel expired and it's time we resurrected one for the fun games that S3 is known for. And so, my little fiends, once again come and play
The object today is to point out CONTRASTS in the Jossverse. Show monsters, individuals or plot points who are opposite and/or contrasting to one another. Extra points to any one who can draw a parallel where one of the contrastees could benefit from association with the other.
For example, in "Go Fish" the fish monsters developed from the inside out, leaving behind an empty skin. In "Same Time, Same Place" Gnarl eats the skin of his victims leaving the rest behind. Hence, the Gnarl would have benefited from the transformed swimmers who left their skin behind without messy bodies or waste.
As is usual in the NerdAlert! spelling and grammar don't count, but originality and creativity do.
Have fun.

"Earshot" and "Hush" - being able to read minds would be useful, when no one has a voice. Anne, that's all I got And you're really, really gross, you know?

Well - uh - let's see . . . at the Beginning of Season 4, Buffy's roommate Kathy is extracting her soul, and at the end of Season 6, Cave Demon is returning Spike's soul. It would have been more economical to just have Kathy extract Buffy's soul, and plunk it into Spike. And kinda fun too. Hmmm . . . .I might have to write that.

Almost kinda good at times. Buffy without a soul? Look how whiney she was when it was being extracted. Somehow I think she'd put Angelus to shame. Although, maybe not so much with the outgoing evil, more with the total self-centeredness.

Tara would have benefited from some of Oz's total self-esteem and confidence. Oz might have benefited by using some of Tara's magical abilities to control his wolf.

No pointy things, just an observation.

The Initiative ("The hold up is that he described characteristics present in about 40 varieties of known demons, so we're cross-checking DNA evidence, hair, and fibers . . . .")
versus
The Library (The knowledge gained from a computer, . . . it has no texture, no context.")
Two approaches to problem solving. No bonus points, because I am of the opinion that very little can be gained by cross-contaminating the Library with the Initiative).
