It's too far away for me so my voting would be moot. But hope everyone has fun.

Um, I'm going to abstain from voting in this one. It would be almost 100 percent impossible for me to take vacation before mid-September, so I had been hoping we'd have a date available around that time or later. The only Saturday I'm scheduled to have off between now and then is this Saturday and Saturday after July 4th. I'm not complaining, though. I understand you're just trying to accommodate as many S'cubies as you can, so it's all good. And I knew there was a chance I wouldn't be able to attend, given the dates, so I'm not completely heartbroken about it.

I will have to talk to Michelle first, as the 2 dates in July are coinciding with her trip to Canada to visit her friend, she would not be able to attend with me, and that may have an impact on me attending. But the Potter 'fest sounds like an absolute blast!!!!! Labor day is not going to happen, unless we go to orlando, because I will already be in Orlando that week for Disney, so then I could at least make an appearance at the fest, maybe not spend the weekend with you , seeing as its family time, but Definetely make an appearance and meet all of you who attend!!! The other two dates are workable for me, depending on location. after all the above I am going to hold off voting until closer to the thread closing on the 10th.

Spring pointed out that the poll seems to imply that those dates mean that you have to choose a location at the same time. Voting for those dates doesn't necessarily mean we have to go to Florida or Chicago. The addendums are just suggestions of what's going on in particular places at that time.

I am voting on this - but my vacation time is such that I can be very flexible. Any of these dates could possibly work for me.
It will all depend on the various unpredictable things going on in my life - my son's up-and-downs and with my friend's illness taking such a downward turn recently - well - I will make plans, then if I have to alter last minute, cie la vie.

I'm sorry too folks. I can't vote because I can't make anything over the summer. (Do you want/care about reasons: Carolyn getting home, family vacations, house projects, 101 medical appts, then pulling together stuff for TWO apartments and moving it all up to Chicago and in no later than end of August.)
I loved when we did the Serenity movie Oct. 1 and even though I never did vote in the locations thread (but I did send Erin an IM explaining that I could do all or maybe none) I see the two top vote getters were Chicago and Florida.
I'd happily vote for either of those sometime after mid Sept. -- doesn't both the heat and price drop after then? However, I know Diane has Renfair by Oct. (and Rachael has a wedding come up).
This is not a condemnation of any sort of the current choices but thinking outside the box or if there is future discussion I'd also be up for skipping this summer and planning for next Feb. or March.
Anybody up for Nashville in March: could be 80 degrees or an ice storm. ;D
Sorry, sorry, I know you weren't looking for more options, but trying to narrow them down. To sum up: a non-vote doesn't mean I"m not interested but ......wait, just looked again. Okay, so I'm going to vote for Labor Day weekend, which is thus far not popular, but I'll probably be in Chicago that weekend anyway.....

I voted, and I'll see how things are when I get to having to decide. I know that August is probably bad, due to moving...and October is gonna be right out (not that it's on the list), as is September, probably. I voted for as early as possible, summer heat be damned. I may or may not be able to go - life being as busy as it is right now, it's hard to know.

Well, phooey. I originally voted for Chicago but these dates pretty much bite for me. I will be in the throes of new software training in late July and then again in early August so I'm out of luck. I'm with Sue: March (Spring Break?) in Nashville would suit me fine.

OK, my dears. Voting is officially closed.
Stay tuned for the runoff between the two lead dates!
