A retelling of one of my favorite episodes, "The Witch."
Wanting to lead a more normal life, Buffy tries out for
. Buffy also
Amy, who also wants to be a
. Amy's mom was a
, so it appears Amy is under some pressure to measure up.
Soon,
things begin to happen and
s start dropping like flies. Giles suspects Amy might be a witch and suggests they do a test to find out. Amy tests positive, so Buffy prepares to
. However, Buffy has forgotten that she still stands between Amy and the
squad...
The next morning, Buffy wakes up feeling very
. At practice, she
and yells out a greeting to Willow and Xander, making them wonder if she's
. So when Buffy throws a
right into a wall. Willow and Xander grab Buffy and
the gym before she hurts anyone else, upon which Buffy expresses her
for Xander and Willow. Then Buffy starts to feel very
. Giles realizes she's under a spell, so he and Buffy head for Amy's house while Willow and Xander go to the game to keep an eye on the witch.
At Amy's house, Buffy and Giles meet her mom Catherine. They wonder
is going on when Catherine says she doesn't care about
, until Buffy realizes Amy's mom went a little
and switched their bodies. Giles searches the house, and although he gets scared by a
he finds what they need to reverse the spell. Giles, Amy and Buffy head for the school.
As Giles begins the reversal spell, Catherine realizes what's going on, gets very
, and goes looking for her daughter. But just as she's about to go
on the gang, Giles completes the spell and switches Amy and Catherine back. Catherine is still
and advances on her daughter, but Buffy feels
, so she
Catherine. Finally, Catherine pulls out the
to defeat Buffy, but Buffy gets a great
, kicking a pole out of the way so a mirror falls down between them. The spell hits Catherine like a ton of
, and she vanishes without a trace. Buffy wants to
Giles for saving her life, but since he's British he doesn't go for that sort of thing.
The next day, everyone is
. Amy's going to spend time with her dad and Buffy decides to abandon the idea of
. However, they're
as to what happened to Catherine. As they walk away, the camera pans over to show us that Catherine is now stuck in her own cheerleading trophy, unable to even cry for
.
