Onjel! I’ve saved the best for last.
How did I know you had been a very good girl, all year? By looking at your list, of course.
Anyone who asks for world peace,
(image is Home by T K Phelps)
And ample food for all,
is automatically on Santa’s “good” list.
Want ideas? Try here too!
Good girls get rewards:
And good girls' parents get rewards too. Especially when that reward is pretty rewarding to the good girl as well.
So, how do you think they’d like to live on Tybee Island in Georgia?
Or would Spain suit you better?
Either way, Santa wishes you a very very merry Christmas, Onjel and all the success and happiness you deserve in the New Year. [/img]
Santa! You are the bestest Santa ever! Thank you so much for the goodies! And, my parents thank you too! I have a prezzie for Santa. Your choice: Merry Christmas Santa!!!

Merry Christmas at last, Riff!!! From Santa, Illyria and Fred!!! Santa tried to find you some more free time, but it seems that time has run out. Please accept Santa’s apologies and some links to get your Dalek on.This is a master link for all things Dalek. You may already have this, being the Dalek-go-to-guy, but in case you don’t, enjoy! You may find the Dalek of your dreams here. Or, you could meet a real Dalek, in the form of the Artist Dalek, by checking out his artwork here. If you are of a mind to build your own Dalek, start with this site to build a Dalek virtually, and move to this location for the Dalek manual to build your own! On the other hand, if you want a Dalek already to go, check out this site remote controlled Daleks. Santa regrets that they are current out of stock, but you can sign up for e-mail notification regarding their availability. Order a Dalek T-Shirt to wear any time! Christmases included. Do that here. How about a toy Dalek to spend Christmases with? Check this place out for Dalek and Doctor Who goodies to play with all year long! And, as a last resort, you should surf Ebay for Dalek and Doctor Who memorabilia! As far as the answers to all the big questions, I have it on good authority that the answer is,
Wait for it. . ..42 It seems Fred wasn't very impressed with Santa's wit. Oh well, c'est la vie! I won't argue with her though. . ..Anyway, Santa hopes you have a very Merry Christmas, Riff and that all good things come your way in the coming year!!!

Dear nicest of naughty girls,
Since the big day is well and truly nigh, I'm going to skip the small talk and head straight to the good stuff. No, dear, not that good stuff—your gifts. You asked for poetry and book recommendations, so I give to you two poems: The Almanac of Last Things by Linda Pastan From the almanac of last things I choose the spider lily for the grace of its brief blossom, though I myself fear brevity, but I choose The Song of Songs because the flesh of those pomegranates has survived all the frost of dogma. I choose January with its chill lessons of patience and despair—and August, too sun-struck for lessons. I choose a thimbleful of red wine to make my heart race, then another to help me sleep. From the almanac of last things I choose you, as I have done before. And I choose evening because the light clinging to the window is at its most reflective just as it is ready to go out. Sweet Talk by Billy Collins You are not the Mona Lisa with that relentless look. Or Venus borne over the froth of waves on a pink half shell. Or an odalisque by Delacroix, veils lapping at your nakedness. You are more like the sunlight of Edward Hopper, especially when it slants against the eastern side of a white clapboard house in the early hours of the morning, with no figure standing at a window in a violet bathrobe, just the sunlight, the columns of the front porch, and the long shadows they throw down upon the dark green lawn, baby. And three books to try:First up is The Solace of Leaving Early by Haven Kimmel. Since the Library Journal did such a good job of describing this one in a few words, I'm just going to quote it: "After being dumped by her professor/ boyfriend and walking out on her Ph.D. oral exams, Langston Braverman returns to her seemingly simple Midwest hometown, where she learns that a childhood friend has died. The Kierkegaard-reading Langston is so afflicted with existential malaise that she ignores her own family and cannot bring herself to inquire into the cause of Alice's death. Langston is finally brought out of her isolating stupor when she begins to care for Alice's two disturbed daughters with the unwanted help of the town preacher. Kimmel, also author of the celebrated memoir A Girl Named Zippy, draws remarkable characters out of ordinary, small-town America. The dialog is clever and sleek without degenerating into the facile pacing of a television script. Through masterly interior and exterior dialog, Kimmel devises a heartwarming story about troubled individuals who struggle with their problems while finding solace and a degree of peace in one another." Happy All the Time by Laurie Colwin. Borrowing from Amazon: "This delightful comedy of manners and morals is about romantic friendship, romantic marriage, and romantic love--about four people who are good-hearted and sane, lucky and gifted, and who find one another. Knowing that happiness is an art form that requires energy, discipline, and talent, Guido, Holly, Vincnt, and Misty deal with jealousy, estrangement, and other perils involved in the search for love." Misty, in particular, is a terrific character who gets many of the best lines, and this is a book I read often when I need to refresh my psyche—it manages to be positive about life, love, and happiness without ever becoming saccharin or maudlin. And finally, there's Point of Honour by Madeleine E. Robins. For one, how can you not enjoy a novel that consciously echoes one of the most famous opening lines in literary history as it begins: "It is a truth universally acknowledge that a Fallen Woman of good family must, soon or late, descend to whoredom." Sarah Brereton is indeed a Fallen Woman, but instead of succumbing to her fate she invents a new role for herself. Taking the last name Tolerance, she becomes a self-styled "agent of inquiry," using her nebulous status in society to her advantage in navigating both the world of the aristocracy and London's underbelly. Sarah is a fascinating character, and PoH is an overall great read. Oh, and I thought you might also enjoy someone to snuggle up with as you read...
I know this Christmas will be a difficult one for you, my dear. But though you might be feeling the absence of your friends and family, never doubt you are always in their hearts and thoughts. You are loved and treasured by many, Erin—never doubt that. Or forget it.
Have a wonderful Christmas.
Your Santa

So, Lola, you are so good at being bad, that Santa has many treats for you for this last week before Christmas! Hope you enjoy!
You asked for a cat water fountain:
<snipped and given to cat>
Available here! You asked for world peace, but I think Onjel's Santa already took care of that... And you asked for a Spander fic written just for you. Well, this Santa is not very good at writing fan fiction (actually, he's never tried), so all he managed to put together was the following, which is not Spander, but sort of a bizarre Xander/S'cubie crossover. Santa apologizes in advance if you don't like it (seriously, Santa's good at writing Christmas Cards, naughty/nice lists, and the occasional private verse to Mrs Claus, but not much else), but thinks you'll recognize the redhead featured here...One Night in Oxnard
For Lola
“Ladies, for one night only, Mr. Clean!” Xander shimmied out onto the stage of the Fabulous Ladies Night Club in his white t-shirt (still wet from the dishwasher), hair net, and a pair of tear-away pants Leon had lent him. He was so nervous he couldn’t make out the faces in the crowd at first. That was of the good. He pulled off the hair net, twirled it around his finger and let it fly into the audience, then did a little peek-a-boo action with his t-shirt, givin’ a little, takin’ a little away. To the left of the stage, a rambunctious group, headed by a redhead in a black t-shirt, hooted. The redhead yelled: “Take it all off!” to the other women’s apparent agreement, if the increased volume of their shouting was any indication. Xander whipped off his t-shirt and tossed it at the redhead; the others looked annoyed, but she looked smug. He threw the pants over his shoulder and they rushed the stage. They were wearing matching t-shirts with some crest and the letter S and waving what looked like fives in his general direction. He grinned and did his sexy dance for them, paying special attention to the sassy one still clutching his t-shirt. Maybe he had picked up more than dishpan hands during his time at the Fabulous Ladies’ Night Club...
Oh, my that is just soooooo wonderfully wonderful!! **squeaks and bounces, hops on stage and does a shimmy with Xander, then disappears backstage with him, where Spike is waiting too** You are the bestest of best best Santas!!!!!!!!!!! Lots of gratitude and thank yous and love sent to you (and Mrs. Clause, of course )

Merry Christmas at last, Riff!!! From Santa, Illyria and Fred!!! *snipped with great reluctance* Thank you at last, Santa!!! So it was you all along, Onjel! Thank you so much for all the lovely Fred pics, most of which I'd never come across before. Amazing! Your links were also very thoughtful and imaginative, especially the recipes and the Daleks. Building one would be a fun project, though I'm not sure where I'd put it! As for the recipes, I'm off on a hunt for tinned pumpkin today!

As one last present for you, I give you this link, so you can find all the screen captures of Amy that your heart desires (Santa did actually photoshop a few to make them more pleasing to the eye from a composition standpoint, but, hey, the essence is still there. Right?) Here you go. You're welcome Riff, it was my pleasure being your Secret Santa.
