The people who remember the bombing of London are getting up there in age. True. Who's hand is that? That's the Empty Child's hand. Don't let him touch you!

That's where The Doctor is. Talk to The Doctor first. You might not want to go in there if you talk to The Doctor. One tiny damp little island says not. Not here. You frighten the hell out of me. Cool lock. Cooler key. I love this actor! Don't touch the flesh. Why is that? Same line on the hand. What's that line all about? How did they get all the same injuries? Whoa. Very weird. Physical injuries as plague. Cause of death? None are dead. Ok. This is truly creepy. Oops. This doctor has the "injuries" Ok. Massively strange looking effects here. OMG! This is scaring the crap out of me! Run! Oh shit. Things don't look good for the home team.

Very cool episode! But, scary. ;D Creepifying! This episode has my favorite quote from the Doctor. The one about the Nazi war machine marching unstoppable through Europe until it his one, small, damp little island that says "No. No. Not here. Mouse before the lion. You're amazing. The lot of you." Sends shivers down my spine - in the good way.

Ah. Gas mask. The universal symbol for "creepy nuclear mutant".
Okay, maybe not. But, still....
And I think I might have to rename Rose "Alice". Because she WILL follow things and wander off, won't she?

Great. Blitzkrieg. Timing really is everything. Rose! How the heck? They have cats where you are from, Doctor? He's been a frequent visitor to Earth for 900 years, and was even exiled there for many years. Probably he and cats are old friends. Some days, it's the only place to find an intelligent conversation.

OK, this was a good episode. Funny, creepy mood, good acting, nice period episode. Like the dynamics between Rose-the Doctor-Captain Jack. Good addition.
Rose is feeling very patriotic today, no?
Child wearing a gas mask: creepy.
All the species in all the universe and it has to come from a cow.
Give me some Spock. Interesting turn of phrase.
The Doctor, HEE! He can be so clueless.
So London during WWII. But the Doctor didn't seem to know that did he? Or he would have at least warned rose to be careful.
Ah, so this is the Captain Jack that I've heard about.
1941
Marxism in action or a West End musical. Hee!
He's empty. Meep!
Clapping monkey!!!! I love those!!!!!!
Time Agent.
Making fun of the Doctors nose and ears. Hee.
Scan for alien tech: a professional. Hee.
The empty child is Jamie.
A mouse in front of an lion.
An ambulance. Nothing but a shell. A con. Interesting.
All he wants is his sister.
Wow, a cliffhanger!?

Great. Blitzkrieg. Timing really is everything. Rose! How the heck? They have cats where you are from, Doctor? I love the telephone. It's ringing! Good question, Doc. The phone is not for you. How does she know? Who is she? I would have answered it too. I hate a ringing telephone. Creepy. Meanwhile, up in the sky. It's a bird, it's a bomb, it's Rose! Kind of a flimsy looking shelter.
Hmmm. Looting in war-torn London? For shame. They were called Anderson shelters, and were actually only helpful for protecting people from flying debris from a not-too-near blast. Their main function, as far as I can tell, was to get people out of their houses and into a relatively small target. If there was a direct hit on a shelter, the bomb wouldn’t even have to go off to kill everyone.

Sends shivers down my spine - in the good way. The Doctor all but states that the British holding off the Nazi occupation of Europe at that time saves the world: “Off you go then. Do what you’ve got to do. Save the world.” Perhaps this explains his attraction not only to humans, but to the Brits in particular. ;D On a serious note, one fascinating thing about WWII is that, even when all the moral ambiguities are acknowledged, it was a war that really had bad guys.

*smiles* As many of you said, creepy. Since the third ep was broadcast, the BBC have tried to find ways to deal with the complaints they receive from overly-protective parents (Mark Gatiss, writer of “The Unquiet Dead”, had to publicly justify its scariness – he said this experience was “a dream come true” ;D). Because, though loved by adults, DW is child’s show, is broadcast here at 7.00pm, and is watched by toddlers. So, the BBC set up a panel of children to review each episode before it goes out and give it a “fear factor”, a warning for parents. The scale is: 1. Mildly Scary 2. Quite Scary 3. Very Scary 4. Chilling 5. Terrifying Needless to say, “The Empty Child” got a Fear Factor of 5. To read what the kids thought, click here: www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/news/cult/news/drwho/2005/05/18/19394.shtmlI don’t want to say too much about the ep at this stage, because the concluding part draws out the theme. But, you’ll see.

So, have you been picking up references? *laughs* You would have needed sharp eyes. In “The Long Game”, Bad Wolf Television announces that the Face of Bo (remember him, from “The End of the World”?) is pregnant. In “Father’s Day” Bad Wolf is graffitied on a poster advertising a rave. Bad Wolf isn't the only hidden secret, but I'm saying nothing now. An interesting theme is coming your way. I hope you’re wearing your dancing shoes for next week, because…
