Well, he danced with Rose, but I don't think he and Rose actually, you know, danced. No. And yes. That was hard to watch. *sigh* No. I'd agree, they never danced, but I'm not so sure he danced with Mme. de Pompadour, either. He could have, but I don't know that she would have risked her position as mistress to the King, despite how she felt about The Doctor. The times were tough for women in the 18th century and a woman without title or man was in very bad shape indeed. And, he talks about the French knowing how to party and inventing the banana daiquirie early. Of course, there's the line about always taking a banana to a party, to consider. Nevertheless, I get the impression that the two of them were with other people from that. So. . .. I think they danced but I don't know if they danced, though I'm probably in the minority here. OTOH, the King seemed to accept her love for another man, so it's possible that in this version of history, anyway, it wouldn't have had much impact on her ability to be his mistress. I mean, he had a wife and a mistress - and he's French! Why shouldn't she have another lover? I doubt they really danced, either. But I'm gonna pretend they did and have happy dreams.

Part IV
Mention of the Daleks.
The Doctor diffuses the tension in every season. Goofball
Bananas again.
Mileometer. Madame de Pompador's brain.
Anti-oil. Like anti-plastic.
I like Madam de Pompador.
The monsters and the Doctor. Seems you cannot have one without the other. But the Doctor is worth the monsters.

Right on cue. Well done, Doctor.

Names are titles. They don't tell you anything.
Well, you're talking to the King's mistress. I wouldn't worry about money.

Definitely one of my all-time favorite Dr. Who episodes. Sophia Myles was a luminous and charming Madame de Pompadour; the villains were scary, and the ending tragic but credible.
