Welcome to the discussion of The Idiot's Lantern. It's light will illuminate many stupid things...
I kid. Please enjoy the episode and come back to post all sorts of insights!

"I need a miracle" . . . be careful what you wish for. "Your brains come pouring out of your ears. That's what television does!" Heeee and then eeeeeeep as, well, that's what it actually does. OMG! The hair! The scooter! The pink helmut for Rose! #rofl1# Too cute. A London-y NY. Yeah.

Queen Elizabeth's coronation. Neat!
Hee! they really are on a movie set.
Men in Black.
The domestic approach.
Hee! love the Rose and the Doctor's enthusiasm.
And then the Doctor shouts. You know when he's in close-up like that that he means business.

Hmmmm. People turning into "monsters" and someone coming and taking them away. Families hiding the ones who've "changed" so they can't be taken.
Are they changed like the guy who's building a TV altar thing? Or physically changed? Must be physically or they wouldn't put a blanket over the head.
Heeee! Loved the Doctor and Rose putting him through his paces like that and then getting Tommy and mum to tell them what's wrong. ;D

Ghost in the machine.
So this is like in Smile Time, except without the orgasms.

Hee! 1953! It was a *very* good year. Love the pink poodle skirt and 10's hair. Hee! The faceless grandma reminds me of that family in the Twilight Zone episode whose faces turned into the masks that their dying father made them put on.

Ghost in the machine. So this is like in Smile Time, except without the orgasms. It is! Altho, I thought the woman in the tv looked pretty happy.

For starters, I know you can't wrap your hand around your elbow and make your fingers meet.
Aw, the Doctor really loves Rose.
Nice conversation between this father and son.

Eeep! Faces all gone. Like they're . . . pixilated out, or something. Almost look like a blurry picture on the TV. Rose sees the TV stuff and tracks it down. Doctor isn't fooled by ending up in the same alley. Silly MiB. Watch out for the faceless gang, Doctor! "I'm the wire and I'm hungry." OK, that's creepy! He's known something bad was happening but just wanted his own peace. And it gets Rose too. Which means it must be reversable then. Ah, the cop wants to help but doesn't know how. Help the Doctor to help! It "makes things simple". I'll say. Now the Doctor is angry! "You'll behave yourself and smile." "Eddy, you have to beat this out of him." And he agrees. Was he this much of a jerk always? He was telling on the neighbors. Not good, but then again, at least it means someone knew about the problem. But still very not good to be all secret informant about it. You tell him, Tommy! "You fought against fascism." And mom sees the light too. "We had a ruddy montster under our roof, but it wasn't my mother."

And he licks the TV.
And it goes to color!
OK, there are those orgasms.
The face is the soul?
