So, trapped on a ship that's gonna crash into the sun. That can't be good.
Also, it seems sort of like when the Doctor and Rose were on that ship that was hovering over the black hole with the "devil" monster thing there . . .
"Reliable and simple, just like you!" Heee! I think reliable and simple guy is cute, though. Him and Martha head out to find auxiliary control while the others try to fix things here. Sensible plan, actually.
"I do love a good stasis chamber!" Well, who doesn't?
So, this guy went nuts and wrecked the ship? Was he possessed by a devil monster living in the sun? 'Cuz if he was, we're seeing a real deja vu thing here.
Huh. So, the door locks are like . . . like a bunch of "forgot your password" reminder things.
Um. I don't think this guy is sedated enough.
Heh! Doctor speed-babbling thru his happy prime explanation. "Talk about dumbing down". ;D
"Anytime you want to unnerve me, feel free."
Calling her mom to web-surf for the answer. ;D Funny! But also
not gonna make her mom feel better about her jaunting about with the Doctor.
Hmmmm. Whiney complainy "kill me now" girl is gonna get her wish.
Doctor tells her that her husband is "gone". But is she going to be strong enough to believe that when she sees his body walking about?
Life pod? Jettison? Eeep! Not good, not good, not good.
Lots of running! Lots of action! Lots of people doing sort of stupid things but also some smart things!
Hmmm.
Is there some part of hubby in there? Or is the thing that is inside hubby now just have a special interest in her? "It's your fault." Hmmmm.
Freezing him is a good idea, what with him being too hot and burning people and probably being linked with the sun and all. Hmmm. Hurt one, the other knows. So, they're sharing the possession?
"I'll save you! I'll save you!"
So frantic, because he's seeing another companion maybe be lost forever.
Mutual suspsicions among the crew. "You killed him." "What did he mean 'it's your fault'?". Good question, random crewperson, good question!
Heh! Rule of space travel - the prettier it looks, the more likely it is to kill you. Reliable and simple dude is really rather adorable.
She believs in the Doctor (because she's seen him in action now) and he doesn't have anyting he believes in. Oh, sad thoughts about family. "They'll never know. I'll just disappear."
Yes, Martha, that's one of the risks of time and space wandering. Sure, it's got loads of fun stuff, but dangerous too! Remember this later, if you don't die now!
Doctor going outside to somehow get the pod back? I don't quite understand why this is, but hey, it's Dr Who. Just go with the shaky technological flow . . .
Martha calling home and mom is not best pleased. Ooooh, and mom has hijackers on the line!
Martha just wants to say she loves her . . . mom is trying to get info . . . but mom doesn't know how bad things are . . . .
That was a revealing and sad conversation with her mom.
Interesting how the Doctor was feeling all "I can't do this" and got "don't give up now" encouragement from the crew guy.
Aaaaand the pod is drawn away from the gravitational pull of an extremely near-by sun because of the magnet from the ship. Yeah. OK, moving on . . . Martha saved, Doctor happy, that's all that matters . . .
"It's alive, it's alive." Oooooh, it's Franken-sun! Also, that's gotta be
really bad for your eyes. Yep, it is. Well, I meant it in a "damage your cornea" kind of way, not possession by a wacky living-sun thing, but still!
Huh. Captain "took the sun's heart" for fuel. But it was alive and now is not happy about missing its heart. Which is sorta understandable, really.
"Freeze me! Freeze me!" and "I'm so scared."
"You saved me, now I'll return the favor."
I like Martha.
He tries to warn her what will happen if he dies, but doesn't manage to get to the "I'll regenerate" bit.
Ah! They need to give the sun back what they took. And then it will stop trying to get them to crash into it? Because crashing it was the way it was going to get the heart back?
"Sorry, I didn't know." Whoa! She lures the sun-possessed body of her husband into the lock and then . . . into firey space. Well, that was a noble sacrifice and all, and got one possessed body out of the way, but, um, doesn't really help the situation or save the other people.
Eeeep! Doctor being all "burn with me, Martha".
Quick, quick, dump the fuel! Well, enough to satisfy the sun but leave a bit to, you know, escape and all.
Mmmmm. I like Martha when she's all . . . commanding.
Yays! Dramatic "it worked/we did it" music, much jumping and hugging and yay-we're-saved-ness.
Heee! TARDIS - compact or robust? Why, it's both!
Cute reliable and simple guy now has someone to believe in. Martha! Ooooh, kiss! (Love the eye-rolling of the guy behind them. ;D ) "Well done! Very hot." Heh. I like smutty punning.
I like Martha being all bouncy and confident and teasing. (Hmmm. I'm liking Martha rather a bit, aren't I?
) "Didn't really need you." Ah, but the Doctor is all angsty. Sad that he hadn't been able to "save" Rose? Keep her from not having to stay in the alternate dimension thing?
Still, she gets the key to TARDIS hand-off, which is always a good thing.
Heh! And then making plans with mom, "what day is it", which she now knows she can keep long time from now, if needed.
Except mom is keeping secrets and all. So, were they just recording the call, or can they trace it, even across all the time and space? Or were they somehow marking it, so they can trace her if/when they return to Earth-now?
