Oh, oh.
Was that an Oood doll I saw hanging on the wall in the scene near the beginning where Sally and Lawrence were talking at the video store?

Dude. How could you not blink? I mean, dude!! **shivers with you** You see? I said you'd like the ep! In answer to your question, all you have to do is wink, alternate eyes. Erm, I'll get my coat. Heee! I was thinking you could hold one eye open at a time with your fingers, make sure you're looking.

Absolutely. That is a wonderfully tense moment. You know, there's something about the Weeping Angels that makes me think of the Gentlemen. Nothing specific, exactly; it's just the fear seems to come from the same, creepy place. I was thinking of the similarities too. Like, they scare the shit out of everyone but me, and both are really beautiful. Both are really beautiful, in their own way, aren't they?

Most excellent. Put me in mind of Alfred Hitchcock's style of suspense. No excellent violence, not even "death" (exactly) but still horrifying. Hitchcock always did believe that the anticipation or suspense was alway more scary and intense than anything you could actually show. ;D

Dude. How could you not blink? I mean, dude!! **shivers with you** Dude. I was sitting there trying not to get dry eye. There is no way. I rewatched part of it in the light of day this morning, and had to laugh at the line "By "we", do you mean the internet?" LOL! I have to stop myself at times from saying 'we' when discussing stuff that we've talked about here. LOLOL!!! I always try to make myself say "I was talking with some friends" because people look at you funny when you say "I was posting with some friends". ;D

I was thinking you could hold one eye open at a time with your fingers, make sure you're looking. Yup, that possibility occurred to me. And since there were two of them, they could have taken turns being the one not blinking while the other let their eyes rest and get re-moistened.

Thought occurred to me... Do the Weeping Angels turn to stone permanently when they look at each other, or is it just that if they're stone as long as they're looking at each other. Cause what if all the lights turn out? Or are they supposed to be able to see in the dark?

If anyone's interested, a brief look at the making of the ep—including the surreal sight of one of the angels walking around wearing an overcoat. Behind the scenes of "Blink"

Neat vid showing the behind the scenes stuff. And, what a wonderful makeup/costume job they did on the angels. Also? You can hear Tennant's natural Scottish accent. Very hot. ;D

Seriously. Frickin'. Creepy. Indeed. I was seriously shivered. It reminded me of that Night Gallery episode with the painting. It had a delicious blend of creepies with the happies. Hubby watched this and is now a Doctor fan. Funny that, with it being a Doctor lite episode. I was also wondering about whether the weeping angels would be able to escape in the dark. I'm not sure they're permanently stone. Meanwhile, I was extra creeped out because I collect stone stuff. I have several stone gargoyles as bookends; a stone goose, a stone winged cat, and a 4 foot high stone winged lion in my garden; and several miscellaneous stone bookcase items such as a chinese dragon, etc. Hubby announced he's got the stone weeping angel on my birthday list.
