See there's so many possibilties! He could have died on the island and they brought the body home. Or he could have died on the island and just put up the marke here, with no body actually there. Or maybe he dies getting off the island, and that's why she had his body? Or **goes to happy la la denial land** he's still on the island and the marker is just to keep up the story and she's crying and missing him because she knows/believes she'll never see him again because he sacrificed himself and stayed on the magical island as a sacrifice so she and the baby would live. I love the place you live. Can I come visit? Definitely! Join me, I have cookies!

Oh, and another reason to love my dvr: the show Sun was watching before she went into labor? Exposé, starring our old friend Nikki.

I will continue to live in "wacky island hijinks" denial for a while. And yes, Hurley is once again the most awesome of men. Most awesome of dudes! As soon as Jin said "I'll always be with you" I thought "Fucking hell: he's toast." Joss has taught me well. Yes, we of the Joss school know it's Never happy ever after. I think the Jin/Panda line started becoming weird with the taxi/phone thing. Up to then I was buying the he's rushing to get to Sun storyline but that just seemed so hinky. And then the phone calls. I was starting to think it was something weird when he kept getting the phone calls but no way did I guess it was a flashback. This show just jumps all over linear time.

So I haven't back read but did you say the gal who jumped overboard - and seriously I'm very confused about that - was acting out the book she was NOT reading upside down?

The stuff with Jin seemed off to me from the beginning, but what really made me suspicious is when the nurse recognized Sun immediately and yet the store clerk showed no recognition of Jin whatsoever. Not to mention that Jin didn't play the "do you know who I am?" card to get the panda, when from everything we've seen there's little doubt that tactic would have succeeded.

So I haven't back read but did you say the gal who jumped overboard - and seriously I'm very confused about that - was acting out the book she was NOT reading upside down? Correct. The book was The Survivors of the Chancellor by Jules Verne. It's about a ship that's left in poor shape after a massive storm, and over the course of time the survivors start going a little crazy: one person jumps off the ship in the midst of circling sharks. This could be because the person who committed suicide by hanging himself was subsequently cannibalized by some of the remaining survivors. So yeah: it's a feel-good tale.

I suppose the tip off should have been how scared he looked about not having the panda, about things not being just right. That wasn't "I'm worried about my wife and baby" fear, that was "I have to have this damn panda or I may lose my head" fear. But of course I can see all this in hindsight, not so much in the heat of the moment. ;D

So they're saying on TWOP that the date on the tombstone is 9/22/04 - the date of the crash. So that means what? He dies sometime in the rest of the season (or I guess with the way Lost is Jin could still be on the show by the end of the run in flashback time)
I guess they had to put the date as the same as the crash so it really doesn't mean anything.

So the interesting connections continue after they leave the island eh? It would seem so. And because I'm just that thorough, it was a clip from the same episode of Exposé we saw at the beginning of the Nikki/Paulo tale.
