Part II
Well, he survived, duh.
GhostLibby!
It's Christmas time? Huh?
Note was written to Walt. So where is Walt?
Michael's mom.
Ah, Walt is with Michael's mom. And pissed because of Michael's actions on the island?
Oh, the whole "I thought your plane crashed into the middle of the ocean" mix up.
Ah, going under an assumed name so as not to reveal that the wreckage was fake, etc.
Michael gave up his parental rights, yet again.
I guess this must be early in the Christmas season, like just after Thanksgiving maybe, hence the Christmas decorations.
Pawning Jin's watch. For a gun. That'll end well.
Mr. Friendly? Wait, is he really there or projecting himself?

Part III
Manhattan, yep. We let you leave one island and you go to another.
The Others were keeping tabs, yep.
Way to weasel out of responsibility for kidnapping Walt there, Mr. Friendly.
So Walt's still supposed to be 10.
The island won't let you kill yourself. What does that mean exactly?
Slaughterhouse Five trivia on tv.
And they found the fake wreckage. Ben definitely could have put that together in two months.
This is Tom's partner? And yeah, this is really him.
Some of the Others can come and go. But not others.
Now, Tom says that Widmore placed the fake wreckage.
How would Widmore know where the real plane ended up at this point?
Evidence of Widmore's work. But this evidence could have been fabricated as well.
Michael's mission is to infiltrate the boat.
Widmore would kill everyone on the island when he finds it. Is that really true?
Working as a spy for The Others is an opportunity to Redeem himself in the eyes of the Losties. That's kind of convoluted, but if Tom is right, then it makes sense.
Michael's mission is to kill the crew. So, he's responsible for all the cabin fever?

Part IV
Boat's name is Kaha***
More sane looking Minkowski.
Talking to Naomi.
Naomi's from Manchester. Hmm.
But Miles' knows that Michael is lying.
80% of the people on this boat are lying about something. But which 80%?
Keamy.
According to Frank, Widmore believes him when he says that 815 wreckage was a fake. Frank's interest, I guess is to find the survivors. Probably the Captain most of all. (I wonder if Greg Gunberg is going to make another cameo appearance.)
To open the chest or not to open the chest.
target practice? Oh, clay pigeons.
Going Rambo?
Oh, Michael's bothered about the guns being on a rescue mission.
So the crew is told that this is a rescue mission, even though Naomi was told it was a mission to retrieve Ben.
So Michael has decided that the crew deserves to die.
Explosives.
Ghost music. GhostLibby again.
So it's one of those guns with the flag that pops out and says "bang?" Not yet.

Coda
A call for Michael. And that's why he sabotaged the communications.
The call's from Walt. But not really from Walt, I'm guessing. Yep, it's from Ben.
Innocents on the boat.
Killer without conscience or a greater purpose.
Ben does not kill innocent people. O RLY?
No one asked Michael to kill Ana Lucia and Libby. Excellent point, that.
Another list. List of the Boat People.
Oh, Ben instructs Michael to disable to the communications.
Then consider yourself one of the good guys.
Sayid is appalled by Michael working for Ben when he himself will soon be working for Ben himself.
Sayid reveals all to the Captain.
I wonder if Michael is considered one of the Oceanic 6. Though I don't know why he would be and Walt not.
I have a bad feeling about this. How very Star Wars.
And where does Karl come from, I wonder?
Wonders if Ben is playing them. Ya think?
Crap, is he dead?
So who is shooting at them?
Crap! Rousseau is dead?
This seems planned by Ben, seeing that he only really cared for Alex.
And despite all the carnage the Others seemed to have racked up, Alex is genuinely shocked to see it happen in front of her own eyes. She's not battle hardened.

Here we go! I'm glad they did the reminder "previously" scenes - so we can remember just how desparate Michael was. Hmmmm. Awkward sitting around with Benry and all. Heeee! OK, so Locke is now saying "no secrets" eh? Yeah. Like I'll beleive that. "Um. We kinda like knew that forever ago." I will never not love Hurley so very very much. What. So, like he's one of us now? And, of course now that we know it already, Benry just tells us simply that it's Michael on the boat. I am suspicious of all this honesty. Guess I've been watching Lost too long, eh? First I complain that no one ever just tells people what is going on and then I am suspicious when they do. ;D No, that's not true. I'm just always suspicious of Benry. Whoa. Boat Captain man totally kicks some ass. Sayid not waiting for answers either. "I'm here to die." Is this a deal he made to save Walt? Dude, that's so totally me at this point too. I love it when literature and film and tv does that because it's like life. People don't always tell the truth and you have to discriminate and determine what you believe and what you don't

You go, Michael! Hit him again!! Well, don't worry Michael, he'll get his. "We're the ones who sent you home, Michael. Did you honestly think we weren't gonna keep tabs." Oh, I would soooooo smack him again!! "You're the one who lost him." No! YOU TOOK HIM! [sidebar]This is my biggest pet peeve about the Others. They keep doing horrible things to people and then trying to be all "you brought this on yourselves" and "we're the good ones" and so on. Because, yeah, none of the plane people were necessarily perfect, but damn! They just crashed. And you all stalked them and kidnapped portions of them and killed some of them and mind-fucked and beat up and tortured some of them. Instead of, you know, helping![/rather more ranty than I had planned sidebar]Ahem. **unpause DVR** Back to the show, eh? Whoa. The island won't let him kill himself? WTF? First the gun won't fire, and now the news. Is this really the long arm of the island stoping him, or . . . just coincidence? Mr Friendly and Arturo all rizty and enjoying life. Hmmmm. He says that Whidmore faked the plane. Boat captain says that Benry faked the plane. Who's zoomin' who? Hmmm. The "evidence" could point to either one. And there's the ep title. **drinks** ;D Ah. And he's using the (supposed) danger to all the rest of his friends from the plane to get him to go. Not a threat to Walt, but to a whole mess of people and building on his guilt feelings. Even more compelling, as it were. Ah! And they want him to be a hit man, like they recruited Sayid to be. Damn!! Totally eetah about that. Now, what I'm not clear about is whether The Others actually believe what they say or whether they are perfectly aware of how full of shit they are.

Me, I was psyched over finally having it confirmed that when Tom told Kate she wasn't his type he meant it—and for the exact reason most of us suspected. Eetah. Of course, he's dead now, and people who keep track of those things probably aren't real happy about that.

Oh, and GhostLibby's reminded me. My pet theory is that she used to be Widmore's assistant or something. 'Twould be a way to fill in her missing backstory and explain why she randomly gave Desmond a sailboat.

From the title and the previouslies, I'm going to going out on a limb and say this is going to be a Michael-centric episode. Go ahead, be bold! I think there is a Lostie extra house, where they pipe Locke's speech in. But I also think the Lostie extra house is the kickin' cool house, where they have all the good snacks and the MST3K all of Locke's speeches as he makes them, imitating his voice and mannerisms and then staying up late braiding each other's hair and telling Island!Ghost stories. So. Much. Hugo. Love! Even when he's only in an ep for a moment, he makes the most of that moment. I'm starting to wonder if this long-running fued between Benry and Whidmore is just the surface, and there is some other, longer-lived, entity or person that is lurking behind and out of sight of both of their organizations. Also, how does Dharma and Whidmore and Paik and Hanso and Original Island all intersect? And Benry's there to take advantage of that death wish - have him take a few more out on the way.

Part I Sawyer also trying to keep Locke honest. Ben still manages to have sway over Alex. A map to The Temple. So the Temple is a DHARMA station, and not just, you know, a temple. I'm kinda bummed by that, 'cuz I was hoping for some kind of connection to the giant four-toed foot and now I'm wondering if we'll ever get back to that. One of my very favorite things, that giant four-toed foot. I also wonder if part of his depression and death wish is some kind of post-island response. I mean, yes, I can see how living with the kind of decision he was forced to make could make you very loopy (Sophie's choice, anyone?), but still. If the island can stop you from killing yourself (and, can it really? or is it all coincidence, used by Benry's folks?), then I wouldn't be surprised if it could help cause the depression that it will then exploit later. ;D Every time you think you're out, the Island pulls you back in!!!

Part III Manhattan, yep. We let you leave one island and you go to another. The Others were keeping tabs, yep. Way to weasel out of responsibility for kidnapping Walt there, Mr. Friendly. Typical Other kind of manipulation. Always frame your opponents actions as bad, always dodge away from or re-frame your actions as good. Heck, always look at every thing in life as good or bad, on or off the list, etc. I lean toward thinking that this has nothing to do with Island magic and all to do with "the people Benry likes and/or trusts get to come and go - other Others, not so much". Heck, it could simply have been pictures of the things that Benry did to fake the wreckage himself. Or have nothing to do with it at all. It certainly doesn't narrow down who really did the faking. And of course, Poor Michael can't tell who is lying and who is telling the truth. Or how much truth or lying actually is happening. I somehow don't think he's doing the cabin fever stuff. But I think he was the one who wrecked stuff on the ship, trying to hinder them and so on.

Coda A call for Michael. And that's why he sabotaged the communications. Oh, that would have been a very intriguing idea. Because the call from Walt, whoops, not! - was really mean. Just 'cuz he is not the actual hand doing the deed (not always, 'cuz he has been the guy pulling the trigger or lever or whatever a few times), doesn't mean he's not a killer. And I don't trust his definition of "innocent" further than I can throw it. Seem an awful like like "innocent = people who do what I want/say" to me. And from all we've seen of how Benry operates, I know we'll learn the same kind of manipulation was used on Sayid. He'll be working for Benry out of some twisted combination of "do this and save your friends/loved ones" and "do this to assuage your guilt and make up for something bad you did". That's like wondering if the sky is blue or if it will rain on the island. That's what I'm thinking too. Seems just too neat to have the two peope who are shot be ones that Benry either disliked or likely wanted out of the way because they stood between him and Alex. I am very very very much hoping that CFL Rousseau is just wounded, not dead.
