I love seeing Jane Espenson as co-executive producer. me too! yeah, that wasn't gonna look suspicious to the crew or anything. but what does he know? it seemed to me like he was imbuing "accident" with the sort of meaning that people give when a loved one commits suicide. but then when he said something about her not leaving the baby - i was wondering if he suspected murder after all. i don't know. i finished the episode still feeling confused about exactly what the chief thinks happened.

Interesting to have Sharon be the one to first suggest not going along with Starbuck's plans. More Cylon versus Cylon, really. indeed! throughout this whole ep she had this attitude of utter impatience with kara that i found really interesting. even at the memorial service she was looking away for much of the time kara was speaking (as were a couple other crew members, i noticed).

If I were on Galactica, I would stay as far away as possible from airlocks, considering all that's happened. and anders is the only one who's still got a long-term romantic partner, screwed up as their relationship is. i wonder if that is making a difference for him, giving him something emphatically humanesque to hold on to. (and during the commercials they aired a mini-interview with the actor, who said he thought that fear that kara would find out anders was a cylon was a motivating factor in anders' behavior as well. i guess in a way, holding it together is sort of a way to prove to kara that he's the same anders he's always been.)

Starbuck looks like she's had a complete breakdown. Scratching at invisible mites or something. Oh, she totally had a Fred vibe. Writing on the walls and everything. ;D

Why is Gaius so intent on getting Chief into his little club? I wondered about that, too. I was almost buying his thing. Maybe he's become a better person, finally. Maybe he means it. And then I was all, dude, this is Gaius Baltar. And he's GOOD.
