My post from LJ: Fun episode. I enjoyed all the Intervention flashback stuff. But I want more Barney and Robin damn it! Did they look a little couply at the end though? It seemed like she was leaning into him or it could be me wanting that. And there was no Stella in the year later scene. Highlights: Canadian Robin! Hee! The pretentious way Ted was talking about encyclopedias and then Robin's letter to him about it. Marshall's Dr. Suess hat! Hee! The robot cookie jar. Lily's awful British accent! The flail! So lots of fun in a very Mother, interwoven way. Okay, reading what you've written has made me love this ep even more. ;D How could you not love Canadian Robin? And Lilly's accent was soooo bad. ;D OMG, super!Canadian!Robin?! Hysterical! Hockey and "eh" and beer and fighting and . . . I giggled like mad at all of that. ;D ;D Erinland is a fine place to live.

I am officially in love with Barney's giant "how can I have sex with Robin again" whiteboard. ;D Heee! No alcohol! No meat! OMG, the horror! And then OMG! "Hey! You Barney?" "Yes." I hear you're a real man-whore, so listen up! Tomorrow night I wanna do things so dirty and so depraved I forget this is supposed to be my wedding." **as poor Barney tries not to pass out** "I-I'm kinda here with someone . . ." "Bring her!" ;D But the best? Lily's "Never gonna make it."

I was a vegan for 3 years. I need meat. ;D ;D ;D Oooooooh! Pretty strong indication that he's not gonna marry Stella at all . . . Robin moving back and, well, she's kinda right about him rushing things with Stella. Disappearing into someone else's wedding, life, house. Whoa. I hadn't thought of it that way, but he kinda is, isn't he? Oh, I love that the girl in Barney's room wasn't even Stella's sister!!!! Whoa. Whoa. Stella was worried about herself. Whoa!! Whoa!!!! OK, that totally surprised me. Totally!

And what woman who was into their own marriage would not care all that much that the programs didn't have her name on it? THAT was weird.

Loved this ep!! And I didn't see the twist coming, either. Barney!!! I was mad he couldn't hold out, but I am so very happy they haven't forgotten about his feelings for Robyn.

With hindsight, now I totally see it - they did it so very well! I think I was so hooked by all the other things they wanted me hooked by, thinking I needed to watch Ted bumble disasterously through everything instead of keeping my eye on Stella. But now? Yep, I can look back at her extreme reactions and so on and see red flags a-plenty! Very excellent ep!

Heh! Barney not being one of the ones trying to cheer him up. "Ladies! To the stairwell!" ;D Go, Buckeyes! "When life gives us pain, we take that pain and we push it down." I actually approve of Ted's avoidant lifestyle. Works for me, dude!

9th grade Lily? Whoa! She really looks young - I actually thought she was a young actress picked because she looked so much like her for a moment.
Heeee! Love the waiter joining them under the table.
(Also? Wonderfully funny way to do the classic HIMYM riff of little stories about each of them that all relate to one theme.)

Ooooh, he told Ted that Stella hated Star Wars! That's gonna just eat into him, isn't it? Nope. It's the NY versus NJ thing. Aaaaaand there goes the top of Ted's head blowing off. I like this more real reaction/ending. Funny as the anger was, it's not really, well, very grown up, is it?

I thought the Robin stuff was the best stuff of the episode. All the moments with her Dad and the hockey team. Other than that, it felt more like a tying up the loose ends episode than a truly classic Mother episode.
But then, I've never been a big Stella fan so I'm happy to tie up the loose ends.
Alyson did look really young in the flashback.

Potentially daddy Barney? Eeeeeep! But dancing down the street "not a father's day" Barney was fantabulous. Heeee! When they're watching all the babies go by and then there are the puppies? Too! Cute! ;D And of course it is Marshall who is completely baby mad. Also, I'm finding bitter homeless jobless Robin to be very amusing. "Get your head out of your ass, Marshall." ;D Shooting beer cans off the roof. ;D "Dinner is a baby!" "That's horrible!!" "Put your melon-headed spawn in ma belly!" Heh! And then the cheerleader effect applied to his bro's. ;D

I caught part of this tonight. I cannot seem to adapt to a brunette Ally. Especially such a dark brown. I just don't think it suits her.
So did Barney get over his crush on Robin, I assume? That's the last time I regularly watched the show - when Barney was all busted up in the hospital gazing at her with the big doe eyes.
