"Yes, he was so very frozen." And "I hardly touched him!" Fascinating how the company owner can't believe Dani isn't taking any drugs. "I wouldn't mind getting a sample of your blood." (She does the best WTF faces. ;D ) Jim shoes. Um. Jim shoes?! "They're wearing people." "Just dead people!"

He's leaving and taking his monkey with him.
Wait a minute, was Connie not listening to the taped confession, was it Dani? I can't remember!!!!
Oopsie! Little chemical spill. What was it?
Well. That's some reaction, dad. "Get out of my house."

Do you guys think that, buried underneath all the peaceful calm smiling, Crews has got rage that's going to come out at some point or not? I can't quite decide. Sometimes I think that he shows flashes of anger but he seems genuinely gentle most of the time. And I would think that if he were angry, we would have seen more of it by now, but all that smiling seems to be hiding what he really feels. What do y'all think? I think he it is there sometimes. I mean, I think he genuinely is trying be calm and gentle and happy, and is much of the time. But I do agree with you that sometimes his smile is hiding or displacing or masking his anger. I think we really saw it boil up and over in the Dig A Hole / Fill it Up eps. In the end, he was able to step back from the edge again, but it's in there.

You forgot about Ted's interview!!! Damn you, Charlie - and now you're all hallucinogenic. Oh, this is so not good. Interesting. This is not going the way I was expecting. Boss guy is maybe not such a jerk. Or at least, he is a jerk, but a jerk with depth. Huh. And the janitor was stealing drugs for his sick son. So, I'm thinking he wouldn't off the doc who was helping to make the drugs . . . or would he? It does explain why he was putting up with the mean doctor. Oh!! The doctor was gonna cut off the supply of drug! OK, then I can see why he would kill him.

Aha!!! I knew the animal right folks wouldn't kill the rats!
Ha! And he didn't do it. He's doing this so his kid can get the drugs and it was . . . OH
The company owner!!! I bet!!

"See those little squiggles there? That's science stuff, isn't it?" Huh. The lab assistant? Why? Oh! Because she wanted the drug (and her work) to look better than it was. Nicely twisty mystery! And I don't think Ted is getting that teaching job.

Crews breaking FrozenSolidMan? hysterical. Now we're delving into the dark world of pharmaceutical research. Janitor referring to the pharmaceutical researchers as animals. Hmm. Yeah, this guy is the reason why pharmaceutical companies have a bad name. And this lab tech look familiar. Monkey, monkey, monkey!!! Jim shoes. Heh. Love letter or hate mail? Hee. What is up with Connie's make up in this scene? What is Rachael's importance in all this? Eavesdropping on Jack as a Zen tape. Ted taking steps to regain his own life. And the monkey throws the book at Crews. Hee! Confrontation with Crews' ex's husband. And gets punched for it. Yeah, that was pretty dumb. Crews' really wants to talk to some one about his relationship with his ex. Some people are animals, while some animals are people. Reese's homelife. Crews is klutzy yet again. But seriously, that lab should be cited for not keeping its chemicals in secondary containment. Reese confronts her dad. And her dad kicks her out! WHOA!!! Reese is melting down. Crews is tripping. So, ketamine then? Is he going to sleep with his chick? Then Reese sticks her hair in the car door. Oh, this is the night for the job interview. Man, this is going to be a disaster. In a farcical way. The morning after. At least Crews doesn't have to do a Walk of Shame. Locker search. Shouldn't they be wearing gloves? Are they not worried about fingerprints? Hey, this looks like that park in San Diego. Janitor confesses. I'm thinking that he didn't actually do it. Cleaning up after the end of a case. OK, this "this is how it happened" scene is good but it would never happen this way in real life. Giving the pills to the janitor. Aww... And Jennifer stops by. And she's back in true form. Just to make this episode complete. Hee! Very entertaining episode.

Now that I've started thinking about it, I can't help but seeing shades of Count of Monte Cristo all over this show.

This is the first ep of Life I've seen this season.
Hopefully it's an aberration----or have they gone all in for the quirky and left any semblance of realism far, far behind?
That storyline, both in general and in its particulars, was ridiculous.
