Palin really is all over the place in this debate, although she does occasionally make a clear point. Kudos to Biden for maintaining his composure while she's speaking.
And could some one please make McCain and Palin explain why they keep saying that Obama's going to raise taxes on people making 42K despite Biden and Obama repeatedly saying that that's not true? It's getting really annoying.

The way Palin danced around the question of climate change really was a thing of beauty. I never would have thought it possible to contradict yourself a dozen times in 30 seconds.

Now, the gay marriage questions are "gimmes" for both candidates. No danger of turning off any block of people who were already planning to vote for either candidate. That said...how frickin' condescending can she be to talk about how "tolerant" she is? Argh. And how dare she refer to our "support for women's rights"? ARGH. And STOP SAYING "NUKULAR"! She keeps using that word. I do not think it means what she think it means. And I'm glad to hear Biden saying that he thinks that marriage should a term reserved for society and the various faiths, because I don't think that either he or Obama have made that clear before. But of course that would have to apply to heterosexual couples too, and every law referring to marriage would have to be rewritten to refer to civil unions.

I'm getting really tired of the word maverick. Also, it works best when it's a term that some one else uses to describe you, not when you repeatedly use it to describe yourself.

Palin is a business owner? Oh, yeah: commercial fisherman, car wash, and I think snowmobile dealership. The first one is because the first dude is a member of a Native Corporation by way of his grandmoher (not a regisetered member of her band, though- and believe me, you don't want to know the ins and outs of that unless you are eligible for enrollment under the Alaska Native Lands Claim Act and its appellate history). It's very standard for rural and small-town Alaskans to have several sources of income, as a direct result of having the year divided into light and dark. Julia, it's one of the ways in which experience in Alaska is not easily transferrable into Lower 48 terms.

I think I had missed that before and was confused when she kept referring to herself as a business owner.

*Snerk*. I especially enjoy this VP Debate Bingo that I found in the comments and I wish I had had it with me when I watched the debate. Hee! And Biden really did refer to himself in third person all the time.

Yeah, it's been said all over the interwebs today, but I have to jump on the bandwagon: I think I'm a little bit in love with Joe Biden.
