okay, attempt coherence... my sense of narrative causality was about two seconds early. I counted down from 3 instead of 5. Something had to happen. They'd made not-meeting a theme, it couldn't wind up so easy.
I did wonder why we got a shot of the hand in a jar. Last time we saw it so directly turned out to be Jenny arriving.

OK, still in shock from the last 5 minutes. But two things...
1. When they were with the Shadow Proclamation, did it not sound like Donna had 2 hearts? Or was it just supposed to indicate that her heartbeat was REALLY loud? Because it sounded echo-y...and a little bit like the sound of drums.
2. When did Donna start wearing that big honking ring? Is that the same ring that was plucked from the fire in "Last of the Time Lords"?

So some competition between UNIT and Torchwood. Like competition between branches of the military. possibly a bit more deep rooted than that. UNIT is a United Nations organisation, whereas Torchwood, up until the destruction of Torchwood 1, was all about the British Empire. Empire and UN being rather antithetical. I have noticed that what the TARDIS in the vortex / opening credits looks like depends a lot on which TV and DVD and quality of recording combination I'm using. It looks godawful pixelated on the older equipment or low quality recordings, but smooths out if I use the makes-it-look-better box and a proper DVD recording. |

Everything in danger, nothing looks wrong, that's . . . not good, is it? Whooopsie! There it goes? Eeeep! Far across the universe.  Martha!!!!!!! And Torchwood!!!!!!!! Yays and squeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!! Oh, and Sarah Jane and Gramps and Rose too!!!!!!!! And with a big ol' gun-like thingee.  Everybody came out to play, which makes sense in a "all the worlds are colliding" story. |

DALEKS!!! Dalek cockroaches, they are! Nice job with showing Jack and Martha and Sarah Jane and Rose all doing some version of terrified, so that folks around them know this is not a good thing. _____________________ Heeeee! I found the music just before they all got called by Harriet Jones and while she was attempting contact and the round-up to be very stirring. Very evocative.
Awesome set up for the finale. I loved this episode. How are you guys enjoying it so far?

Whoa. Supreme Dalek and a freaky "abomanation" Dalek-guts guy and "the Doctor is coming" and wow! Odd!! What's up wiht Donna?? "There was something on your back." and "you're something new" and "sorry for the loss that is to come" and . . .  Bees disappearing? "You saying bees are aliens?" "Don't be so daft! Not all of them." ;D They want to take his equipment (well of course they do) - War, right across the universe and you will lead us into battle. Ulp. Just go and get you the key - heh! Yay! Rose saved gramps with her big gun!  They get to a rift in time and space and no planets there and "you never give up" and on Earth, they're surrendering. And who is sending a message? Harriet Jones!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!! They're bringing back everyone!!!!!! Oh this is fun.  Heh! Harriet Jones, former prime minister. "Not now, Captain."  Sentient software created to find anyone who might be able to contact the Doctor. What's the key? And why create it if it's never to be used? Heh! Rose being all snarked off and "hey, what about me?" ;D And off they all go to their plan - activate those phones! Cool Torchwood beamy thing! And they get thru to him, so bob's your uncle then! |

So, is this Davros? I mean, how many times does he get killed and then nada? And here they come for Harriet. Transferring to Torchwood. Fire on the TARDIS and eeep!! Heh! I love Jack and his team's responses. Oh that is brilliant - you clever people. ;D And who's that? Captain Jack . . . don't! Just don't!! Heee! I love how he's all wanting her to back off and stop drooling. And he still can't see Rose. Heeee! I think I like this little mutant insano Dalek-guts guy. It's the bubbly Dalek-echo-voice giggle. ;D It is Davros. Which is just, like, totally unfair. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, the crazy guy is "Dalek-khan" or something? And he saved Davros but it made him nutso? Well. That's just a fine howd'ya'do. The Time War is time locked, but he still made it through. Of course he did. I have my children, Doctor, what do you have? They're gonna exterminate Torchwood? Nooooooo!! Jack gets his time watch thingee working. "I'm coming back." Like they're gonna believe that. Run, Torchwooders!!!!! Run!!!!! And they all run off to try and find the Doctor. |
