“Old Spice” and “Stupid hat”. HA!! Henry has a thing with Charles. HA!! Bits of the past are coming thru to their now. Which is being caused by their timeline creation, isn’t it? “Can’t we just dip him in Fargo’s goo?” “I’d rather die.” Comic Con mention! **ka-ching!**

Giant crawly robot monster attack! Eeeeeep!! Also? I love deputy Andy. Love! Him! Biomechanical unfolding fully-automated yurt – BUFY! Heeeeeee!! “The machine that tried to kill someone has just moved to the top of your to-do list.” “I dated a robot once. It didn’t end well.” Put it all together, Jo – AIs run amok! “Why pretend we’re in the 1940’s when things are soo much better now.” Oh, snap!! SARA the AI house computer: Andy, I know we got off to a rocky start, with me terminating you and all. Andy the robot deputy, with a big grin: Twice, actually. SARA: I was confused. But now I see that you’re charming. And sophisticated. And I know it’s shallow but I love your new adorable little face. And well, I really like you. Heee! Carter being all casual and “Hey, Tiny, what’choo doin’ in the woods? You lost . . . girl?” followed by his later jibe about the “unnecessarily creepy design!”? Comedy gold! Run! Run! (How long has Fargo been wanting to use the “come with me if you want to live” line? Forever, I’m thinking. ) And that’s how Deputy Andy kept his happy squishy feeling stuff while Tiny and little baby Emo lived happily ever after. Henry and wife storyline? Nicely done!

“Your house is getting more action than either of us.” Yeah, SARA! You go, girl! **high fives SARA**
Ooooooh! Medusa! Turning people to stone! Only not so much. Fossilization, created by the fossil guy. Hoist on his own petard! His stony-like, fossilizing, one might even say “hard”, petard.
I’ve liked the slow evolution we’re getting with Jack and Allison and Dr Grant. Where are things going? What would be the best solution? I think the most telling line in this ep was when Jack asked Allison if she knew it was a date right away when Grant asked her out. But it was perfect that they tried to be all “this could get all screwed up so we shouldn’t risk it-let’s do the sensible thing” etc .etc. And then? Passion!
OMG!! SHE BLINDED ME WITH SCIENCE!!! **dies and goes to heaven**

So I was extremely pleased when he swept her off her feet. Zooey + Zane == Zaney?

I love Deputy Andy. I just love Deputy Andy! Heeee! And I soooooo love how they’re bringing back dead/gone characters in this AU timeline. Beverly! Beverly with her shadowy group behind her and her mysterious motives and so on! But especially Nathan STARK!!! STARK!!!! OMG!! And just showing up in the office, all “Did you miss me, Carter?” and I’m totally squeeful!! “Pinch me. You know you want to.” And then the adorable head slap. **goes to happy place** Ha! And a little girl schools Fargo. Interesting storyline, with the “science should be for exploration, not military/military is what funds the other stuff” discussions. “Clear the air” conversation? Awkward! And then, freaky. AWKWARD AND FREAKY!! Is it the DOD machine doing things, or the “be in each other’s memories” machines that are messing things up, I wonder? Or both, working on each other! Stark and Tess seem like exactly the kind of unexpected result you could get from the “be in each other’s memories” neck patches. Also? Is Zane really just messing with Zoe like he said to Jo, or was that conversation between him and Jo another “hallucination” (or whatever) like Stark and Tess? I’m thinking the conversation didn’t really happen. Mostly I am just crushed because this probably means Stark will only be here for this ep. **pouts** OMG – the little girl is a “hallucination” too!! Ooooh! Well, since they’re hallucinations from their original timeline, I’m even more certain that it’s the memory sharing neck patches. And, yep, that’s what it is. “What’s the frequency, Kenneth.” HA! ;D Beware of Beverly and her group’s “plans”, dude! Carter: Put a shirt on! Stark: Hey, this is your fantasy, not mine. Excellent!! Perfect fanservice, Eureka writers! Give us some more, please! Oh. My. And then they have Stark stand up and stretch and we get those lovely muscle lines down the front of the hips just leading your gaze on down and . . . lordy mama! Man, this is just reminding me how fun all the Carter and Stark snarking was. And how well they actually worked together. Arm around the shoulder and “time to talk about our feelings, I’ll go first”. HA!!! FANSERVICE I love you!! It’s a plan to steal the DED! Beverly’s group! Nefarious, didn’t I say that, didn’t I? Ha! I was so right! OMG, poor Jo! Telling the real this time-line Zane all that stuff? OMG!! She was shaking when she sat down. Awwwww! That little “ok” “ok” “ok” moment? **melts into puddle of goo** Sending him back to change the future? Um. Is that a great idea? And do you really want to change it to be the way that Beverly’s group wants? And how do you control the changes you make?

Julia, snerk So relieved that Nathan's appearance was just a fluke and not for real due to the time-line changes. ;D Well, we all know why I wanted it to be a not-one-off, but it's not like that was ever gonna really happen. And at least I get to be happy with the idea that this Nathan was Carter's own personal Nathan.

Whoa! Doctor from the past guy was already trying to change the past back in 1947! Awwww. Happy post-coital Jack and Allison. Send him back to the past, where he can be a God? Aaaaand no one sees a huge freakin’ problem with that idea? **giggling over the ever bubbly and adorable deputy Andy** “You know what’s even more upsetting? I don’t remember this gorge being here before.” HA! “You are very big. And smart.” I love Jo. HOLY TIME/SPACE WORMHOLE EXPLOSION, BATMAN! Alison!! Now you’ve made “average, no lower” intelligence Jack mad. And that can’t be good. “And thanks to you, I lost my hat.” **sad face** Oooooh, crossing the time streams? Not good! Not good! Dr Who would tell you that is not good! Whoa. He’d let the guy die so the machine won’t be built? Damn. And then the wrong Carter gets grabbed? And the guy lived anyway. Oy! OMG, he left himself a message for the future!!! Oh, how I love love love the “I trust me, I trust me, I trust me . . . I don’t trust me!!”

Now I can't recall if the final scene was part of the ep or was a preview.
WARNING: If a preview then there may be spoilers (from the preview) in my comments below.
Well, the final minute sort of reset the reset. But until that point my feeling was how Eureka was truly a show, like Fringe, that is not afraid to totally shake stuff up. It's like the writers want to explore a variety of plot paths (like variations in fanfic). I mean, they've been keeping Carter and Allison apart for years but in far more creative manner than most shows. If Zane and Allison were missing for 4 years and presumed dead, or at least permanently gone, this seems like a totally natural progression. I was thinking about how they wrapped everything up for the threat of the week so quickly and happily but did NOT wrap up the personal lives stories nearly as neatly -- which is typical of the show.
On the one hand I'm glad Carter and Allison will get to be together. And I'm actually even happier that Allison has not missed (I assume) her daughter's 4 years. However, I haven't liked Beverly since season one and I don't like that she's back. Nope. I hope this is wrapped up quickly as well. Wonder if they will retain their fake memories and how that will spill over once they return to reality.
The question is, I guess, how and at what point Beverly took control? Is she just controlling the minds of the crew of the Atreus or everyone (seemed like it was more).

To my mind she's behind the disappearance of the Atreus, literally hijacking it to place unknown for nefarious purpsoes, also unknown.
Personally, I'm glad it worked this way. The Big Brotherization of Deputy Andy bothered me on a visceral level but the loss of 4 years of Allison's daughter's life was much, much worse. I kept saying to Bob that nobody looked four years older, well now we know why.
Like you, I don't care for Beverly. She doesn't do it for me as a villain. What can I say? Mond control freaks turn me off.
SO much goodness to speculate about.

Mond control freaks turn me off. SO much goodness to speculate about. What I appreciated was the element of uncertainty. Given that in the past they reset everyone's memories after season one, killed off Allison's 1st (3rd?) love, went back in time and yes, DID change history I actually did NOT see it coming that it was mind games. And, yes, while it totally sucked that Allison is now alone (her still being in love with Carter while he moved on is a total parallel to Carter still loving her in season two while she's gone back to what's his name) it was definitely the mother/daughter angst that was far more upsetting than the loss of a lover in my mind. YMMV. But there ARE other men out there. There was no way to get those 4 years back. I repeat: I hope this thing with Beverly is wrapped up pretty much immediately
