Faith, Hope and Trick - I always forget how young Faith was. Is even. I rewatch and she just seems... like she's wearing clothes that are too big, or borrowed makeup or something. All that attitude is very teenage, very put on. She does bad stuff later, but in the context of how old she isn't, more understandable. I think the Slayer myth logic says she has to be younger than Buffy. Depending on what 'Into each generation a Slayer is born.' could be quite a lot younger. how many of her crimes would be as an adult? How much would that matter, about murder? Faith said "Murder two, 25-to-life. For the record." I wonder what kind of lawyer she had? And if W&H were working on the other side, after how she treated them?
(much was replied about this in part 501)

It is just that her character is so opposite Buffy in everything. Attitude, personality, just everything opposite. I never really had a thing for Buffy. I mean don't get me wrong, She is cute. But Faith raises it to another level for me. I am sure it is the bad girl routine. Maybe the carefree attitude. But the sexiness just flows from her.

Lots to love in this episode. Faith's intro, of course...
This episode confirmed (for me at least) the nagging suspicion that the Watchers' Council was a really really useless organization. Okay, Faith's watcher died, gonna happen, but they don't have a plan in place for that? Haven't thought even to inform Giles about Faith's existence? They sure haven't a clue how to provide true support to a slayer - which we will see again and again.
This episode always makes me wonder how Giles became Buffy's Watcher. My assumption of the process was that there were hundreds (thousands? nah) of Watcher-trained assigned to identified potentials - and human nature being what it is, and the Watchers' Council being what IT is, I assumed there's be some ranking...the "best" watcher (according to the council) sent to the potential with the, er, most potential to become the next slayer. Which means Buffy should have gotten the cream of the Watcher crop since her original Watcher had died in the line of duty and the Council KNEW she was a slayer. Yet she is assigned to Giles - whom we all love and respect - but given what we are repeatedly shown, he doesn't seem to have been a major player on the Council, nor had much respect from them. Why isn't he at the Cotswolds for the big yearly Watcher's convention? Why isn't he in the loop concerning major events affecting the slayer? Why is Giles with Buffy?
(and while I'm asking questions...Why are so many of these epsiode threads so empty? Was the original thread archived? Or was this episode before the days of the S'cubie board? I know I'm more of a lurker than a poster, but the S'cubie board seems like something eternal to me. Hard to imagine a time "before." lol)

I always thought it was interesting to see Buffy giving Faith the "you know how to run away" speech. Acting all stay and fight girl, especially considering how she had just gotten back from running away.
I did not care for that scene. I don't believe she had the right to come down on Faith for trying to jet, when she had just done the exact same thing. It just didn't feel right for me.

Hoping to comment on something and spark good discussion abou the episodes. I do find it interesting that there are no posts to those episodes though.
