Xander/Anya begins
oh dear
not that they aren't cute sometimes but... oh dear.
you know with that 'sock puppet of love' bit and the 'I'll never leave you' and Joss's usual attitude to relationships Xander's lucky he didn't get Lindsey'd. Evil hand!
Buffy & Angel 4 ever!
#doh2#
yup, he's dating a teenager...
so I'm thinking they're deliberately upping the teen factor to make the break more plausible
"I don't have to tell you that you and Buffy are from different worlds"
and denial mom can say that with a straight face
they met because they ended up in the same world
I know, Angel is supposed to be being all noble with this
the meta reasons make him look stupid. he could have changed things. instead he just goes oh well and slopes off to LA.
I mean it would be different if Angel actualy outgrew Buffy. I mean it could happen. He saw her all shiny daylight slayer person, redemption walking, maybe he could grow up enough to see he doesn't need that.
I guess he is growing up enough to see she isn't just that. He sees her as a regular person with stuff going on that isn't about him, and so he leaves.
For her sake.
daftness. should let her make her own decisions.
but Angel is always having complicated thing going on with the whole Free Will concept
That burning Buffy bit, very unpleasant
the fear it represents, very unrealistic
Angel getting more human by making Buffy more like him, more vampire.
doesn't work that way. she already runs all the same risks with him and without him.
of course then he ends up draining her, all his fears confirmed, so I can see why he wouldn't see it that way.
Tucker Wells. Andrew's brother.
(in my head I'm seeing Andrew all ;D because someone said it that way round.)
Angel has a chain round his neck. starts showing in the sewer where their love life goes down the drain, much more of it when he is picking up blood at the dead animals place.
"The great thing about being a Slayer - kicking ass is comfort food."
which sounds real empowering
but means she is dealing with emotions through violence
which is a teensy tiny bit problematic
(as we see, often)
The actual prom bit - I confess I don't 'get' the prom. Lack of dance related rites of passage. But its pretty cool.
"Lowest mortality rate"
shiny umbrella!
we got awards when we left high school, age 16
I got 'person with the wierdest ideas'
the only other contender thought he saw UFOs, so, pretty good going me...
Wesley, "blueberry scone"
"she's 18 and you have the emotional maturity of a blueberry scone" actually, meaning its an equal relationship.
which is kind of what I see in B/A.
I'm pretty sure I'm not meant to be seeing B/G
but
And then Angel in a tux. awwwwww.
after she told him to go away? still awwwww?
puzzled.
I like Oz version of formalwear. Manages to still be very Oz like even in a suit meant to transform all males into penguins.
I guess the snuggly ending is really sweet but... I don't know, the whole Angel leaving thing seems kind of futile. I mean he left so she could go be normal, and that didn't work out. Found a nice normal boyfriend with a chip. Two actually.
Of course out here in watcher world we got a whole spin off show from it, so yaaaay.
*shrugs*
