"I didn't want you to get hurt. You're my friend." It is really creepy every time she uses that wiped, child-like voice to repeat stuff she's been told. "I'll remember that the next time I'm being bow hunted." "We're all strangers to them." Hmmmm. Someone else is watching. Someone always is. Hmmmmm. Old friend from Old Navy?!? This guy? Terrible liar! Hmmm. Old friend of the head woman or just old client of the firm? Or both, perhaps. Someone who this woman will trust, but who'll take a bullet for her. He knows if he seemed to not want to hire Echo, then the singer would want her more.

Huh. They've really turned her into a robot. Even her fake personality doesn't know she's programmed to protect the client no matter what.
I think this guy is too small time to know about the Dollhouse.
Ah. FBI guy knows, if we can do it, we probably are. And we're probably doing not good stuff with it.
OMG!!! The FBI's snitch is an active!! That? I did not expect.
Heeeeeee! They have Sierra in as a fan. ;D
You know, I like how they're doing the same song, exactly like they did before. Pretty accurate for today's very structures, very choreographed performances.

People always just do whatever you tell them to do? Yep. Including you, Echo. So. Is the active who is pretending to be a source in that role only to put the FBI guy off the scent? Or is he in that role for other reasons too? Damn! FBI kick-ass guy. Heh! They're hitting the fan-worship hard. WTF? Why is this Rayna encouraging the looney fan? Well, talk about obvious symbolism. Saying "I just want to be free" to Echo? As you're in a cage?

Whyfor with the taunting of the guy? Nice edit cut, from the gun shots at the concert to them taking shot FBI guy away. No, they didn't grow her in a lab, they just keep her there. Heh! "You are truly unwell." So, Rayna feels like Echo really is.

So, will this make Sierra "activate" and go off on this guy? Oh, Sierra is playing victim to take attention away from Rayna, sort of. "I can't stop him." "You could try." "She's a fan. She'd want me to go on." OMG!! "You will help this girl." Damn!! "Friends help each other out." Well, yeah!

how do they program the actives to completely short-circuit all their free will, even as their characters? to put it another way - how does echo both think she is who she's programmed to be, AND know she's supposed to ignore that overlying programming if need be (like getting fired not stopping her from staying)?
does anyone understand how the programming is supposed to work?

Nice. Tech guy has some spine. "You're in my house! Of the two people here, one is a genius one is a security guard in a nice suit." This is a big magical moment for the two of you. Damn!! I love how this is totally messing with the stalker guy. "You don't want to die, you don't want her dead, this is way too confusing." Whoa! It's really rather sad to see Echo and Sierra chatting away as their characters, chatting about and making plans for the lives they don't actually have . . . Send her to the attic? Ooooooh! "Special isn't always a good thing here." Oooooooooh!! "Wiped" Echo still knows to be wary of seeming too close to Sierra.

Saying "I just want to be free" to Echo? As you're in a cage? Just a tad heavy handed, I thought, as if they are trying too hard (or don't trust the viewers to "get it.") Did you notice it was co-written by JED Whedon? I'm assuming one of Joss's brothers? And some female whose name I did not recogize.

Teaser Well, this is different. Damn, that girl's on fire! Enough with the hyperbole! Back at the Dollhouse. Handler and Amy Acker. Handler's arrow wound. Handler has a personal attachment to Echo. Some one else is watching. Some one always is. What makes them think that the room they're in right now isn't bugged? Russian guy and neighbor. Adelle and Hey It's That Guy. Ah, he's the Client of the Week. He wants to hire a companion. OK, ED's voice isn't bad, but it's not that great either.

Part I
More dissension in the ranks.
Persona and parameter. Two separate elements.
What do you want? Some one who's paid to protect you or some one who wants to protect you?
Tech Guy seems to be a true believer. Handler and Amy Acker, not so much.
So Sierra is accompanying Echo on this engagement.
Rehearsal.
Pool party. Ah, we're back with Tahmoh and Russian Guy.
Oh, this guy's "family" are regular human traffickers and that's why Tahmoh is following him.
The technology exists; therefore it must be being used.
Victor. Wait... he's the Russian Guy! So he's a deliberate red herring.
Sierra's playing the part of extreme fangirl.
Performance.
Here's our killer. And he's that guy, as expected.

Part II
Back stage. There's creepy guy.
Tahmoh and Victor. Tahmoh finds another dead end.
Well, at least there's some bad guys to fight.
And now he's injured.
This must be the other handler. He's another hey it's that guy.
I wonder why Handler left the police force.
Back with Echo and Rayna.
Is Rayna on something?
Ah, Rayna is enabling her creepy stalker.
Suicide by creepy stalker.

Part III
Mayhem at the performance.
Tahmoh in the ambulance. Hey, one of the paramedics looks like Wesley Snipes.
OK, I liked the parallels between Rayna and the Dolls, but this is a little too blatant.
Sierra gets grabbed by stalker. Which probably means she will kick his ass.

Part IV
Oh, guess not. How does Sierra "come into play" then?

Coda
Oh, that's Echo's plan.
Are you doing this on purpose are you just bad at your job? At this point, I'm thinking both.
Oh, Lackey is head of security.
This is like a Frankenstein's Monster moment. Tech Guy clearly doesn't think about the consequences of creating these personas.
It's not about killing her; it's about giving her what she wants.
Security Guy and Adelle arguing again about Echo.
OK, again. She's got no control over her actions. How is she possibly responsible for what she does? You two are responsible, not her.
Amy Acker and Handler also seem think that what Echo did was her own doing and not what she was programmed to do. I'm not at all convinced of that.
Special isn't always a good thing here.
Tahmoh in the hospital.
It seems that neighbor is beginning to become a significant character.
The wolves are circling.
Nice ending.
