Okay - I must admit I don't care for this episode much. Several reasons:
1) I am uncomfortable with seeing Xander as two different personalities, especially seeing them as two less likable people. I know that when they are merged they show the two sides of Xander, but for me this episode misses. Neither side has the quality that makes up the Xander that everyone (Scoobies, and S'cubies alike) love. In this case, the sum is definitely more than its parts. I just don't like the parts much.
2) I cannot stand the shirt that Gormless Xander is wearing. Xander has worn his share of horrid shirts on the series (where do I start?) But this one may be the nadir of his collection. That's really saying a lot. Oh, yeah, and where did Take-Charge Xander get the nice blue shirt? Does that mean that Merged Xander really likes those horrid monstrosities he wears? Is it the gormless side that dictates the wardrobe? Sooo yuck.
3) Not much Spike in the episode. That could have made up for the shirt.....maybe.....nah.

SNOOPY DANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I remember Will telling Buffy about that in an earlier episode from a couple years ago. It was funny hearing her describe it, but funnier actually seeing it!

Anya's line was the best of the best "I can take the boys home, and we can all have sex together, and then we can slap them back together in the morning." ROFLMAO "It's not like it would be cheating. They are both Xander."

It was funny hearing her describe it, but funnier actually seeing it! Yes, Willow told Buffy about it in Season 2's "Passion," and this episode has many deliberate references back to "Passion," (the ep where Angel kills Jenny). I go into detail on this in my review, if you're interested. And I too LOVED Xander doing the Snoopy Dance! It was too cute. I liked this episode quite a lot.

And thanks for pointing them out in your analysis, because I doubt I would have noticed them otherwise.

Wow, there were tons of references! thanks for pointing them out Spring! It has been awhile since I read your review. I know half the things I notice you probably have already pointed out and in much greater detail. you really do have an incredible eye for catching things I would never have noticed. I do bow before you and your most outstanding reviews!
