Not grieving isn't an option anyhow - you're gonna grieve, one way or another. Tears are the best way, because you are going to grieve, one way or another, eventually. You can't actually stop it. You can only redirect it. And the other directions are not so good - anger and resentment at others, deep depression, wild sex with blonde vamps in leather coats, acting out in one way or another that can be harmself to self and/or others . . . etc. Actually, I kinda like the struckthrough one...especially when the house comes down. Thanks, all of you. S'cubies are the best. I assume the strikethrough has to do with ownership disputeage in re said blonde vamp in leather coat? I wouldn't want to tread on any toes, or other parts...

Sakurajima Volcano with Lightning Credit & Copyright: Martin Rietze (Alien Landscapes on Planet Earth) Explanation: [/b] Why does a volcanic eruption sometimes create lightning? Pictured above, the Sakurajima volcano in southern Japan was caught erupting early last month. Magma bubbles so hot they glow shoot away as liquid rock bursts through the Earth's surface from below. The above image is particularly notable, however, for the lightning bolts caught near the volcano's summit. Why lightning occurs even in common thunderstorms remains a topic of research, and the cause of volcanic lightning is even less clear. Surely, lightning bolts help quench areas of opposite but separated electric charges. One hypothesis holds that catapulting magma bubbles or volcanic ash are themselves electrically charged, and by their motion create these separated areas. Other volcanic lightning episodes may be facilitated by charge-inducing collisions in volcanic dust. Lightning is usually occurring somewhere on Earth, typically over 40 times each second. [/quote] Cool. And very Wednesday and Valentine's Day appropriate.

Better Half: What Diane and Erin and Spring and Karen and everyone said. Grief manifests itself whenever and however it wants and you can't keep it bottled up forever, no matter how hard you try. I cry for my father at some of the strangest moments and I'm never sure what will set it off. *hugs* and don't ever call yourself stupid again.

I've been casting a show, selecting songs and burning CD's all morning. Also battling a bug which I see Spring is too. I haven't been sick in a long time so I'm hoping I can beat it off. Shan- I have not been online when you have been talking about your Father but my sincerest wishes for comfort for you in this stressful time. Karen - love the opener.

Oh, nice. My sister just found my dad's stash and I can't have any because I get random piss quizzes at work. The first and last of which was right after I started there 6 years ago. *headdesk* Life is very hard. Did I tell y'all that Anna's boy testified in favor of legalization ? He wore his Eagle Scout uniform to do it, too. Julia, life is rich and full

Stupid Anne is Stupid. I still haven't been able to let go and cry over my dad, but this morning's "9 Chickweed Lane" made me weepy. It wasn't even sad, dammit (If you follow the strip, you'll understand). Of course, there's no way I could fit in a good cry this morning anyway, it'd be too damn distressing to the rest of the family. Seriously, I really don't want to deal with the resultant stress, what with the hard work of reassuring the Husband, the cats, and/or the Elder Daughter, if she catches me crying (Younger Daughter is more easy-going, and will just shrug). Maybe after the Elder Daughter leaves for school, I can relax. Or not. So I have a headache and achy eyes to add to my allergy-stuffy-head-aches. Seriously. A comic strip. Stupid Anne is Stoopid. My brain goes back, now, to the worst-that-was time, and says "is this as bad?" which, no. So I can only cry when things surprise me, and that leaves a severe backlog, usually reserved for 3am when I get up and step on something hard and all the back-order tears show up at once. Too bad nobody makes good three-hanky weapers anymore, so the tears could come and nobody would pry. Julia, the everlasting self-centeredness of twenty-one-year-olds is exhausting to live with, innit?

Good luck with the new show. Take some Oscillo! Dang. I guess Nick's rhyming texts last night must have rubbed off on me. All right!

Well, at least after this afternoon, I'll have a yardstick to measure how bad this particular event is; that should be refreshing.
Julia, really wishing I could take some painkillers.

Actually, I kinda like the struckthrough one...especially when the house comes down. Guess you couldn't keep that up for long, tho. As long as the blonde vamp in the leather coat does, who cares?
