Shan, Sounds like palliative care really is best at this point. Believe me, I know how hard this is. Just let your dad know that you love him and that it's OK for him to go when he needs to go and that you will be alright. The hospice folks will explain it to you better than I can. You have all my love and support.

Stupid Anne is Stupid. I still haven't been able to let go and cry over my dad, but this morning's "9 Chickweed Lane" made me weepy. It wasn't even sad, dammit (If you follow the strip, you'll understand). Of course, there's no way I could fit in a good cry this morning anyway, it'd be too damn distressing to the rest of the family. Seriously, I really don't want to deal with the resultant stress, what with the hard work of reassuring the Husband, the cats, and/or the Elder Daughter, if she catches me crying (Younger Daughter is more easy-going, and will just shrug). Maybe after the Elder Daughter leaves for school, I can relax. Or not. So I have a headache and achy eyes to add to my allergy-stuffy-head-aches. Seriously. A comic strip. Stupid Anne is Stoopid.

Rewatching lectures on mediasite, I've realized that each lecture is like an episode and each class is like a tv show. It's certainly more fun to think of class that way.

Okay, so Dave sent me this link to test my learning style. Which, unsurprisingly, shows I'm fairly verbal and not all that intuitive (with no real preferences in the other two categories). But when I asked the lab whether they'd consider me "outgoing" or "reflective", they laughed in my face. What's up with that?

Kaylee is stretched out next to me. Apparently, achieving said stretch required planting a hind foot in my ribcage to have something to push against.

The test tells me that I am fairly well-balanced. HA!! Little does it know.

The test tells me that I am fairly well-balanced. HA!! Little does it know. Tells me the same thing. I scored a 1 on all but one scale and on that one I scored a three. Amazin'.

Maybe you could share the link with us and we can discover how we turn out? Okey dokeyI'm around the middle of three scales, but a strongly reflective learner rather than an active one. This should surprise no one.

Maybe a growth spurt coming up? Maybe. Her doc says that babies her age have big neurological development spurts, and can be expected to sleep less well for a few days to a few weeks. And to expect it again at 8 months. Typically, if she was in a growth spurt, she'd be eating more at daycare, but she's not - she's eating less and sleeping more during the day. Ah.. Emily is saving the best mealtimes for when mommy comes home. Smart girl, although tiring on mom. It'll all balance out soon. In the mean time, relax and enjoy! My youngest did that very thing because he knew he would have me all to himself after midnight when his brothers were asleep. I did enjoy our night time snuggles while they lasted, which wasn't long. In the meantime? Gently inform Dave that since you are doing nightly feedings, he needs to make sure he gets up in the morning with Emily so that you at least get that extra half hour of sleep in and a shower and possibly some food in you before work. Can you have a bottle for Dave to use for that early morning feeding if you've been up all night at it?
