Same here. We got majorly dumped on Monday and it's not melting soon enough for me. On the other hand, we haven't gotten nearly as much snow as you guys or the east coast. You got the snow we got on Sunday night, but I think you got twice as much. It's been a snowy winter, but no terribly cold days below 0. I'll take snow over 20 straight days of -0 weather anyday. But enough is enough. It's time for spring! Hee! I'm just the opposite. I can handle 0 degree cold as long as the sun is shining. And, snow makes it so difficult for short Zak to go outside and do his biz. ;D Give me cold and sunny with no snow any day, but not a day that is a Spring day. Give me that first.

Bravo on the part opener Onjel. I'll second that emotion! Just noticing that we are on Page 2 already.

Very pleased with self. Self is working on file of 18 year old girl who's alleging disability due to ODD, ADHD, depression and so forth. Her mother mentions in the file that the girl also has hearing loss due to multiple ear infections as a child and several ear surgeries. Funny that nobody has developed this issue. If the kid can't hear--no wonder she's frustrated.
I'm putting an alert on the file and recommending to the judge that receives it that he/she send this kid out for hearing tests and maybe updated psych ones. Not only might it earn her her benefits--but if they can give her a hearing aid, the ability to hear better just might be enough to help her overcome some of her other difficulties.

You should pat yourself on the back because it's clear this child needs someone to look out for her interests as others seemed to have missed this. And, thanks on the part opener.

College is fun and interesting. And breaks in lessons are good. Yes. And I don't have a headache and it isn't going to come back and it doesn't hurt if I look in the direction of the lights. Optimism, I has it.

It literally hasn't stopped snowing since yesterday afternoon, and there's more than a foot of snow on the porch railing now—it's even deeper in places on the porch itself. When Kaylee tries to move around where I haven't already walked the snow is up to her chest. Speaking of Kaylee... when we went out this morning I strapped on some snowshoes to make walking a little easier. As I tried to take some pictures, wiping the lens clean frequently, I caught the edge of one and started toppling backward. It was a bit of a slow-motion fall, so I was able to keep the camera safely in the air. But as soon as I landed, Kaylee ran over, poked me in the face with her nose... and promptly started digging at my coat pockets to try and get to the cookies she knew I was carrying. Lassie she ain't.

She's no Lassie, but give her props: she at least made sure you were breathing before taking advantage of the situation.

There's actually a pretty high correlation between repeated infections of all kinds and ADHD; various causal mechanisms have been positied but few of them even tested (because it's hard to do prospective clinical studies on these things, for one thing). Depression can be comorbid or secondary to ADHD. Julia, I don't envy any of the parties involved

Did OK at Children Services meeting last night. Felt anxious before, but kept my cool during. May sign up for the classes in March - it can't hurt anything. My house is definitely not ready but it could be made ready. And me, I'm moving toward ready also - and can't wait for 100% ready now, can I? Would have never even had Vince, that way. There are a lot of different options and I wrote on the survey that I was open to just about any of them - would want more info and guidance on the best match of need and my abilities. The hard part, the anxiety and painful feelings involved, is really all around the fact that the whole enterprise is a step toward accepting my son's death and the permanence of his absence in this world - in my world, for the rest of my life. Very very not fun, but baby steps. Baby steps and S'cubie time, and counselor and family and friends and still doing things for Vince. I can't imagine how difficult but we're with you, all the way.
