Did my stationary cycling while watching BtVS - this time Killed by Death. This is really quite a good ep. Love the way it ends with Buffy getting that gory picture of herself, drawn by the little boy. And I really love the Xander-Angel confrontation in the hospital corridor. Xander - he rocks! And the constant riffing with Cordy . . . so good. And David B - I know he wasn't very experienced as an actor going into BtVS, and it showed, especially in contrast with that outstanding cast. But he really starts to hit his stride once the character loses his soul, and though you can still see him growing as an actor throughout the next few seasons, you start to see - in those little moments like "telling Joyce about making love to Buffy" and "confrontation Xander in the hospital" that he can achieve brilliance. The BtVS watching is really helping me do my exercise! I love this combo biking and watching thing! I'm going to have to start matching my time on my little mini-step machine thing while I watch eps taped from Logo.

So I've been rereading my old Sassys, and, for those who've never watched it, they had a column called "One to Watch" that featured various hotties of the 80s and 90s. Some, like Billy Wirth, were never heard of again, but the big shock was not the 1989 issue that declared Brad Pitt one to watch (which I had remembered before I read it), but the 1991 issue that featured Reed Diamond.
Seriously, though? No one else here has read Sassy? Not even Lola?

Cool! But when did you start wearing glasses? But, seriously. Beautiful job on the photo - I love how it makes the bubbles even more eye-poppingly effervescent than they already are. And very fitting for the how the photo will be used. Yeah, I agree. It was a great idea on Cathi's part—I'm just glad I could figure out how to make it happen. I found out today that Cathi recently heard from the husband of the lady blowing the bubbles, who shared the sad news that she passed away a few months ago. However, he was really happy we'd selected this photo of her to represent CfR in our promotional stuff, which was good to hear.

ARGH.
PG&E has sent me a bill for more than three times what we usually pay in February, claiming we used three times as much gas as we have in the past.
No. No, no, and no.
We work 5 days a week. We use the heater only when we're home on weekends and in the evenings for maybe three hours. Nothing has changed.
Clearly it's wrong...the PG&E website is down and no one answers the phone there at night, so I have to wait until tomorrow to request an explanation. And then I'll likely have to go through the entire "disputed bill" thing with CPUC, since I am NOT paying this bill. Something is wrong with the meter, or someone misread it...or else we have a huge gas leak somewhere.
Grr, argh. I can probably win a dispute based on comparing three years' of past bills with this one, but, argh, argh, argh.

Does your utility do that thing where they guesstimate your usage (based on prior usage) for a couple of months and only actually come read the meter every third month? So maybe it could be increases over several months? Just a possibility.

So, Walden Media is in the editing stages of the third Narnia movie, "Dawn Treader." Christianity Today has a story on it, in which my sister is extensively quoted. C.S. Lewis has been a HUGE influence in her life. www.christianitytoday.com/ct/movies/news/2010/willdawntreaderfloat.htmlI'll put the link on the OT thread as well, since it's possible that some discussion of content would belong there, but I think it's an interesting look into the company's PR and marketing and the actual making of the film that is appropriate for general discussion.

When a sentence starts "Tennessee Leads the Nation...." do not necessarily expect it to end well.
As in "TN leads the nation in tornado fatalities over the past 10 years."
(Local stations are doing their annual March specials on tornadoes. And, I just had to retell the story of our up close and personal brush with the tornado that hit downtown as Tom's gf had never heard it.)

JM is now on twitter, for those who want to know. twitter.com/JM_LiveWell, it's not him, it's his manager or whoever, but you never know. Maybe he'll start twittering himself some day.

She found his books at the "bookmobile" when she was in grade 5 and started writing to him. His first few letters were handwritten -- only a few sentences, but still. The last few were typed, due to his stroke. Oh, this is cool, if you go to Amazon, and choose "search inside this book," type in Kathy, his letters to her come up!

Erk. Well, now I know why she acted like I was trying to murder her when I tried to feed her. If she felt like I do today, it was child abuse.
Sore throat, hurts to swallow, cough that also hurts, low-grade fever. Meh. Not the flu, but icky enough to have me considering whether leaving the house is a good plan.
Not that I have a choice. I have a deadline at noon tomorrow, and my laptop with the half-finished project is at work....

Worse for babies, though, because they don't understand why Mommy can't make it better.
