Welcome to Part 1100 of the Soulful Spike Society In honor of the start of baseball season... My brain is telling me I've already reached my creativity quota for the evening, so I'll just get right to the point: 1. Read the rules.2. If you want to talk about stuff that's verboten on the main board, go here and chat to your heart's content. 3. Don't post spoilers anywhere but here. 4. Check out the great reviews and essays on the S3 home page—the awesome includes Erin's takes on Dollhouse. That's it from me. Let the posting commence.
Sara: I miss daily Foxtrot, darnit, thanks for the blast from the past! Your mystery bird is the Common Merganser, BTW. Ann: onesided headaches are a common form of migraine. It can have to do with the sudden deterioration of near vision in the dominant eye, or development of astigmatism in the dominant eye, both common in early adulthood and not unconnected with lots of reading. There's one-sided chronic sinus pain, and also posture related one-sided headaches and those having to do with habitually reading or even sitting with a glarey light source in front of and to one side (these things may be a subcase of migraine). I am 100% whacked and now need to go get stuff off the line, oof. Julia, laundry, weeding/pruning/et'c also insufficient sleep.

Thank you—I did figure it out and included the info in my original post, but I just realized I didn't capitalize the name as I should have. So I've fixed that to make things clearer.

Yeah, I did a lot of reading on our HMO website this morning. I got the one-sided headaches when I was Emily's age, and went 'round and 'round with my doctor over them - migraine meds made me ill (and didn't work anyway), and when I tried to take a stress-reduction class, my boss created all sorts of new stress because I had to miss work to go - anyway, I suspect sinus. It was very dry and windy last week, and I had an ongoing headache too, and Emily said her ear on that side ached at least once. Also when I talked her into taking a decongestant today in addition to acetaminophen, she says she got better. But it's best to get her checked out in case the low-dose bc pills she takes for mood swings are causing problems, at the least. I drag her to get her eyes checked every year, but I suppose that might be a factor, although she's been severely far-sighted her entire life. Paul and Kitty have one good eye and one bad, and my eyesight started going when I was about Emily's age, but Emily? Always got to be different. Sara, you can never have too much Foxtrot.

I had severe migraine starting in childhood, so I've done all possible reading on headache over the years. Julia, of late I get headaches from listening to my daughter make excuses why she can't do what I need here to do

I just have to say that personal life mood swings on top of med school mood swings are just fantastic. Fun for the whole family.
I'm not going to get any more specific than that. Not at the moment, at least. But I just needed to share that much. On the plus side, I'm getting really good at being upbeat and functioning and appearing all put together when I'm feeling like a mess inside.

Julia, of late I get headaches from listening to my daughter make excuses why she can't do what I need here to do I can remember as a child sitting in the dark, crying, because my head hurt so bad. These days it's either tension or abrupt changes in the weather (damn Santa Anas), so maybe I've outgrown the worst. Spawn can be the worst. Good luck with that. Update, 5:18AM Monday: Sleeping S'cubies? Busy as bees? It's raining here, just in time for the morning commute. A few good vibes for the husband, and for me if I have to drive the spawn to school (as opposed to them driving me bats), would be much appreciated.

I loved the opener. So tired. Didn't sleep well last night. Could someone please wake me when it's Thursday for Supernatural's 100th episode?
