Watching Triangle; had to look up Abraham Benrubi's name; linked to Happy Town and, uh...isn't that remarkably similar to a certain book by Neil Gaiman?
Julia, hmmmmmm

Runway! First up is . . . Seth Aaron! Red wool and leather dress - I'm not totally sold on the shape, but it's a dramatic eye-catching outfit and I can see his inspiration. Oooh, classic SA! Awesome stunning amazing jacket, with the pattern and the collar. Interesting dress - very floaty and followed by another pretty dress, very 40's, although I do not like what the model is doing in displaying it. I like the black shiny ?leather? top with the mini and the red collar! Kinda retro-futuristic/punkish. Just my style! Oh, the yellow and black check suit-coat? To. Die! For!! And the pants outfit afterward is nice too. Next two looks are a bit more subdued, but still elegant. And when they zoom in to look at the coat? DAMN! I want that. Oh, the purple is lovely. Lovely! Well, I've always loved Seth Aaron and I loved this collection!! Mila - Black and white stripes I like, but again I'm not totally sold on the shape - it does not move exactly as I would wish. I like the next dress, and the boots, not totally sold on the coat over it. Next dress is actually my fave so far, not exactly cutting edge but very nice. And the necklace is very cool. Hmmmm. The coat with the white pants underneath is not my fave. Seems too stiff. Like the next one a bit better, although the one pale glove is one step over the retro line for me. Oh, this is the one she was showing Tim! With the patent leather insert and the mini-skirt - really like that one. And the top on the next one is really cool. A lot of her black pieces are starting to blur together to me - I'm afraid that they might have detail that is being lost on the runway. Casual over-sweater in the purple? Nice! And the detail on the legging/pants was cool. Now another nice simple dress, but I like it. (Alothough I am still ugh on the pale fingerless gloves.) Here comes the silver dress with the T-shaped neckline. I gotta say, looks much better with the rougher rock'n'roll styling - she did that right! Emilio - I like the print underneath on the top and actually also like the color of the jacket (lining! love!) and the cut of the jacket is interesting, but when she takes it off the top and skirt are a bit ordinary in their silhouette. Very pretty red dress, but again an ordinary silhouette. I agree with Tim's "we've seen this before" comment. Love the blue color on the next top, and the red of the following coat, but again the clothes themselves are not adventurous. Well made, yes. Good looking, yes. But not creatively daring. Now the dress underneath the red coat had some interesting bits - particularly the shiny tan hem. Oh, now that's nice! The dark green print suit, with the red gloves? Nice!! Very cool cut on the jacket. And now a more staid blue dress and rather ordinary top with skirt combo (although the way the shiny blue is used in the sleeves and belt are excellent touches). Oh, I like the black pants-suit with the patterned flowey blouse underneath! And the very butch styling on the model? Perfect! Huh. I think I like the shiny metallic-print mini-skirt with the black turtleneck and long black coat. That is actually kind of awesome. Hmmm. The metallic and flowey long dress with the very high slit/exposed leg, on the other hand? Kind of "meh" to me. I mean, it moved awesomely, don't get me wrong, and the color is interesting, but somehow the whole thing as a package did not do it completely for me. Whew!! They all had rather excellent collections, actually. What a touch group to be a judge for! Just shows the high quality of this season. Heck, the final 6 or 7 folks have all been so good I'd have been happy to see any of them in the top!

Winner! Well, Emilio is handling it all fairly well, really. I like how he quoted Anthony.
I can't help but feel that Emilio "should have won" because he worked soooo hard over the course of the show.
Though Seth is a deserving winner also. His collection took more chances than Emilio's.

What do the judges think? Seth Aaron - Crafted beautifully; has the kaboom and the pow; stepped up the luxury while keeping it young; powerful show that has looks that can also translate to wearable easily; has grown up, more sophisticated; like the combo of patterns; still sometimes too much/a heavy hand; very editorial; and they don't like the purple (which I liked); exciting show. Has guts - fearless. Emilio - Faith Hill was knocked out; cut and line and fit of the coats; the prints are loved; most commercial collection (yes, I do agree, but also to me that is his downside); they love the gown - and I can't even say why I still find it a bit underwhelming, because I can see it is lovely. Michael wonders where were the pieces in between the classic day-wear and that gown. Nina would have liked more of the evening/gown stuff, thought there was too much of the sportswear and tailoring and coats (yes, I'd agree with that). But he's showing a line, not a collection, where is the drama, the showmanship? Mila - They like the changes to hair and make-up (yes indeed!) - styling made it contemporary (again, I agree); like the mix of shiny and rough; the mix of "media", of fabrics and feel; like the leggings, their sheerness; like it loosened up, looks cooler. But they weren't surprised. Tough decisions for them! Each very different collections and vibes. Which to pick!? Who is the winner? Not Mila . . . and not Emilio. It's Seth Aaron! Well, I was going to be happy no matter who won, 'cuz these were all very interesting and cool and wow!

His collection took more chances than Emilio's. **nods** I think I really like that they picked the collection that took the most risks, that really pushed the designer's style and that was the most exciting. Seems fitting for PR. But really, I could have seen either of them, heck, any of them, deserving the win.

A f*ckoff masterpiece indeed! In all liklihood, the former master (if he received this letter at all) was highly indignant about his former property's lack of gratitude for all that the master had done for him.

Nicely done - I like the subtle, sincere, classy - yet somehow unmistakeable - type of "fuck off" the best. It is interesting to me that he learned to write so well - slaves were often given no education and were illiterate. I wonder what sort of work he did - if he was a the "house slave" type who might have been exposed to reading and writing in that manner. His mention of interest and calculations about that make me wonder if he did any sort of bookkeeping for the household or some such thing. Thanks for sharing.

And thought that $25 per month in the 1860's - 70's sounded like a pretty great salary. (Notice the wife only gets $8 per month.)

Crime boss Abed? Awesome!!!!! That was the best!! The Goodfellas voice over juxtaposed with Abed's silly hairnet had me tittering. Annie's Boobs, ftw.
