So I'm no longer the product of two primes. I'm the product of the squares of two primes. Dorky math joke at about the limits of my mathematical acumen: 5 * 7 = 35. (2 * 2) * (3 * 3) = 36. The only reason I even thought of it was being reminded that Bender Bending Rodriguez' and his brother Flexo's serial numbers are each the product of two cubes. ;D

We opened our rings. They are perfect. Simple titanium bands with the inscription inside which they got right and they fit beautifully. I love them. I'm so happy they came out right. Fantastic. Love to hear news about the upcoming joyous event! Love to you both. Somehow I missed this and it's WOOT!-worthy

So I'm no longer the product of two primes. I'm the product of the squares of two primes. So you're saying . . . your parents are square? Cubed, I think.

And to finish this run of Patti-itis I think I will do some actual work. Or not.

I'm recalling your many howls of despair that she wouldn't study, was irresponsible with her assignments and could never, ever, EVER possibly finish high school. Aren't you glad to be wrong on this one? Thanks for the congrats, everybody. Now I have to get her actually into the community college... She's been "accepted", but there's still all the orientation and counselling hoops to jump through, and the worry that classes she needs will be filled or cancelled. There's a lot of that going around, due to the budget cuts. Public ed has taken some serious hits the last few years. I recommend an hour of watching "The Freshman" as therapy. And also a reminder that it isn't ALL that bad. After all, she WAS accepted. That's where you begin.

Just got back from a fantastic dinner with my family and special guests Rich and Sara! The family and I came to Vermont to see a nephew graduate from high school, and luckily Sara and Rich were available to meet for dinner. Hopefully, my family didn't scare them too much... My sister ordered dessert, a chocolate bombe that came with a scoop of ice cream on top. It was very artfully displayed on the plate with little tear droplets of caramel sauce ringing the dessert, so my sister's husband tipped the plate to give my mother a better view of the artistry. The end result being the ice cream went tumbling off the plate and across the table. My sister did a sort of slow motion dive for it, but of course, couldn't get to it in time. Sara had astutely brought her fancy schmancy camera along, and got some great shots of my mom laughing hysterically. I can't wait to see them. Sara is a total sweetheart, and Rich is a charming conversationalist. And I can say without reservation that getting a hug from Rich is like getting a tiny piece of heaven. The evening was so, so nice. Oh no, your family was very nice. I had a great time with all of you. Unfortunately, I only had time to get two shots of your mom laughing, and one of those wasn't in focus. But I'll try to get the other one to you sometime soon.

Oh botheration, the BBC Torchwood website has gone and changed things so trying to find old bookmarks just gets you the new announcement. Yes, thankyou, put that in the News section and on the RSS feed, but pls to be leaving the whole rest of the website where it was.

Followed a link that Julia posted the other day about what motivates fanfic writers. Found the youtube fascinating. Read about the speaker. Reserved one of his books at the library. And I offer you this link: www.danpink.com/johnny-bunkoabout a book that Kitty might find interesting.
