OMG, yeah that would be a dream gig for me too! You were one of the people on the "boy, I wish I could give people airline tickets and room reservations" The Resort is right flat out on the dune line, practically in the ocean, and there's a lot to be said for outdoor concerts. Also the first week in September is almost always the best beach weather or the year. Julia, it's going to be a gas, I suspect. OMG....this would be to die for! And I haven't had a beach vacation in 3 years. *itchy* But Christian Kane? That is the clincher. He is the yummiest. Joss had such an eye for the eye candy, didn't he? Damn. Speaking of eye candy, the Hawaii Five-0 commercials often as not show Daniel Day Kim in the promo head shot. He is a pretty one...those cheekbones and eyes....

Sara, our very own wonder photographer sent me the link to her first throw at the handfasting pics! They look amazing! Do you all want to see them? ETA: After a little thought, just to protect our privacy a bit, I moved the link to the admin thread. Lovely photos!! Great job, Sara!

For anyone who has ever wondered why I have fangirled so hard over Misha Collins, this may help explain it a bit: Misha Collins Random Acts of KindnessThis organization was formed with some of his fans. He had made a joke on Twitter about getting charity status from the government, and then they all went ahead and did it. And now he's taking an even more active involvement. He had said, when asked by a reporter when he first got on twitter, what he thought of fandom and fans and the crazy following he'd gotten, and he had said it was all strange, but that he felt there was something he should be doing with all that energy, so he was still thinking on it trying to figure out something constructive to do. Well, he found something. Please, everyone, watch the video on that page, read the message, and donate, if you have anything to spare. And if you don't, make a plan to do some random acts of kindness where you are. It's often free, and makes the world a bit brighter. I have never been prouder to be a fan of Misha. Bookmarked. What a great guy with awesome fans!

The write up of the show actually sounds like it has promise ala Eureka or Warehouse 13.

I'm sitting in my office, on my official first day as an Assistant Professor.
Weird. So very weird.

Also the US Am is starting at Chambers Creek soon. Julia, I may watch the Golf Chanel just to hear what the commentors say about the course.

I'm sitting in my office, on my official first day as an Assistant Professor. Weird. So very weird. Sort of like a mega-first day of school feeling, I would imagine. Julia, wondering who the cool kids will be...

Oooo....I googled the course. It’s built upon a former quarry and resembles a moon crater, as one official called it, from high above.
“It’s like the first couple of holes you’re staring off into space,” said William Miller, 21, of Venetia, Pa., upon completing a practice round Sunday. Took last year's champion to play a round on Sunday. Very cool. Thanks for the head's up on this.

Took last year's champion to play a round on Sunday. Very cool. Thanks for the head's up on this. It's also got an unobstructed water-view of the southern Olympics; probably the most distracting visual possible. I keep wondering how the steepness of the course and the presence of an all-caps VIEW is going to effect play. Julia, because it makes Pebble Beach look sort of flat and plain.

So, the power's been out in Arlington since 10 p.m. last night (thank you electricity gods for at least waiting until after Leverage). I haven't opened my refrigerator at all since then, but I'm starting to wonder how long I can give it before I have to seriously consider chucking all of the perishables. Thoughts?
