To all of you who watched John Stewart last night: Yes, I am embarrassed to say I am from Tennessee. I watched part of it. Assif Mondvi annoys me; he needs to be more funny or at least have more variety in his schtick. But, YOW: the unexamined assumptions, there! Julia, "nobody's perfect" With a straight face: I learned it from the internet. You can google anything. I apologize for bashing. But seriously, people?

A cab driver was stabbed when a passenger asked him if he was Muslim. When he said yes, the passenger sliced him. The hate that is being spread by certain people needs to be punished. Seriously.

Speaking of n'ubies..... There is a "William B" posting on the Afterlife thread who has put a link there to an lj where a recent to Buffy (3 years) person is doing ep by ep commentaries. Reminds me a bit of the wonderful but never quite finished Buffyguide.com which was my first entre into the world of Buffy/Internet and is still standing with some of the most complete and remarkable episode commentaries anywhere. But I digress. Anyway, I did drop by the lj mentioned (I am unsure of protocol since I haven't directly contacted this person so I'm just sending you to look at his comment.) At a glance she seems to be friends with a lot of the "names" in Spuffy fiction and also the comments on her entries are thoughtful, coherent and (ack, brain freeze, that word that means people are being polite). And, I sent a quick "hello and welcome" to n'ubie lily, who has never posted and she responded back. Just "hi" but I send those out a lot and typically nobody every writes back to me. And, btw, vampires are good for the economy: www.people.com/people/article/0,,20415495,00.html

I think she registered mostly to be able to IM me. She gave me a link to her site, but it is still very much "under construction" so I didn't want to share it just yet, thinking she doesn't really want vistors yet. But she promised to let me know when it was up and going - I'll share then. I mean, I know you guys don't read Italian, but it might still be fun to get a load of my analyses in Italian.

William seems like a very thoughtful poster, so I am curious to take a look but haven't done so yet.

Breaking news. The next Dancing With the Stars will include .......... Bristol Palin. I wonder how her mom feels about that? Probably not as bad as she did when Bristol decided to inform her family, through the press, of her (short-lived) re-engagement to Levi. Passive-aggressive teenage-daughter vs mom stuff, possibly. Of course, it takes on a new dimension when it's this public.

YAY! Are we ready to go? No way we can do a collection, but we can pick a category . . Man, that went by so fast - anything catch your eye? Minimalist . . . Leopard/tiger skin, menswear for women . . . ugh, what else was there . . ??

What's the challenge, hmmmm? Teams! Big teams!! This is gonna be a trainwreck, yay! "Do you wanna hire Hitler, really?" Very interesting way to choose teams. And the design challenge is a six piece collection on trend for Fall 2010!! Choose a concept and a textile. I vote for minimalist or 50's retro. Oooh, but menswear for women is fun too! A suit! A suit with a hat in animal prints and lace!!!! OMG, it would be AWESOME!! Either that or a plaid camel-toned military thing.

OMG, they have to do a whole collection! We can't do that! We only have Spring with Photoshop!
I vote we take the concept and the fabric and make ONE outfit to express our POV.
What say you all?

Leopard/tiger skin, menswear for women . . . ugh, what else was there . . ?? Minimalist, 50's retro lady-like shapes, menswear for women, and military. Gold, lace, plaid, leopard and cheetah prints, and camel. Ooooh!! How about a very simple, very minimalist, shiny gold tube!! With military epaulets and boots!!

Definitely. I like Lola's idea of trying to take more than one category, since we can't do more than one dress . . . instead of one category, several dresses, several categories, ONE DRESS! Diane, what is your favorite category? Lola, sound like 50's retro is your fave? I'll use all three of our favorite categories . . let me go take another look and pick my fave.
