OK - it's been slow going . . . here's a bit more . . . Ooooh, the hat is very snappy! And the gloves are very Jackie Kennedy. Nice!

Sportswear. Hmmm.....Jackie O inspired golf clothes would be cool. Ooooh, a golf outfit would be perfect!! Is it totally sacrilegious to suggest we do it in pink? Hehe...No. Pink is cool. I wear it alot on the course. Like today at our golf outing fundraiser. Nothing better than playing golf on the company's dime.

Chris C. Sexy
April....Blac. I like the jacket.
Ivy. Love it. Gray black and white. Love the sheer jacket and the assymetrical top
Michael C. Royal blue dress drapes nicely..
Gretchen. Love the look, especially the skirt all swirly print.
Michael D. .. Gray flouncy skirt doesnt scream Jackie O to me, but cute.
Valerie's black skirt and zip jacket with purple top. Would look good with boots, too.
Andy S.....Interesting gouchos. If would look good on a slim woman like Jackie.
Mondo's mix of prints work. Love the pink lined jacket.

Runway!
Christopher C - Hmmm. The dress is actually very nice, if rather straightforward other than the shoulder detail, which I do like a lot. The "shrug" stole thing? Seems both too little and too much at the same time. But it does make the look more interesting. Is it sportswear?
April - I think I like this. (Again, my TV does not seem to want to let me see all the details that I know are in this all black look. Grrrr!) The outerwear seems a bit too flimsy to me. Again, is this sportswear?
Ivy - This is probably one of the better things she's done. I like the black/white/grey thing. Really love her jacket thing. The pants are nice. The blouse . . . has some fit / silhouette issues, I think. But the idea is at least interesting. Which is the only time she's done something interesting, frankly. And this seems more sportswear to me.
Michael C - I agree with him that this is more cocktail dress than sportswear (but at least he knows it and some of the others did the same and don't seem to know it, so . . . ) The dress itself is rather pretty, actually. Very pretty. Perhaps a bit of a fit issue on one side, but generally very very pretty. Love the color. And the jacket was rather interesting. Not sure if they really fit together.
Gretchen - I like the top and the skirt very much. And the outerwear, too, from some angles. But the skirt length and jacket length (or is that a big cardigan?) don't work well together. And the jacket/sweater thing just has some silhouette / shape issues. The back belt should have been a good idea, but I don't like how it turned out. Sporty.
Michael D - Hmmmm. I think the problem with the skirt isn't just the length, it's the other thing he was thinking earlier. It doesn't sit at the right place on her hips. Moves oddly. I like the bodice well enough, like the back. And the little jacket thing-y is cute, I guess, but also a bit . . . lacking? Sporty, though.
Valerie - Again, hard to see the detail with all the dark, but I think overall I really like it. The sleeveless jacket-y vest? Very nice. Very nice!! And I really liked the purple top thing with the pockets. Nice simple skirt. Gives it a sportswear vibe that works nicely, I think.
Andy - Yeah, the fit is not great. I really love the idea, though. A feminized drapey cargo pant is a cool cool idea. I can see how with a bit of tweaking this could have been awesome. As it is, I like it well enough, but it has issues.
Mondo - Oooooh! Love this!! (Of course, I love his general aesthetic and the colors and all, so duh!) Love the purple large pattern of the skirt and the bold color inside the jacket. Very fun! And the French new-wave-ish top? To. Die. For. The stripe going the other way on the ends of the sleeves? Genius!! Very sporty!
Now for the judges!

And here's the sunglasses and a football . . . I wish I could do something with the shoes, to hit that "outerwear" thing . . . I dunno . . . any thoughts on any further additions?

I think this is AWESOME! (And actually rather tasteful and elegant for us. OMG!) Can you photoshop her in front of a different background? 'Cuz you could put her with horses behind her, or a sailboat or something. Or a horse on a sailboat!! It would be just like the Old Spice commercial! Seriously. I think she's perfect as is. She has the Presidential seal of approval, after all.

Judging! Valerie - a jacket over a jacket. No impact, boring. Not a style icon. Colors that drag it down. Boring tube skirt. Always using pleating and zippers, just gimmicks. Ouch! No tailoring, no imagination, nothing special.
Christopher - The dress is elegant and nice, but the wrap - color is nice, but they don't quite fit. Take the shrug off and it looks better. Shrug looks like a dirty old rug. Ouch!
Michael D - Schizophrenic Jackie. Old lady on top and cheerleading ice-skater on bottom. Unflattering skirt and jacket doesn't go with it. Drop waist doesn't go with belt. Top does not fit - sloppy. Put together terribly. Poor and sad. Over-thought it all.
Mondo - Sharp, loud but it was designed as a challenge. Love the inside color of the jacket. T-shirt is fabulous, silhouette is classic. Jackie would wear that skirt. Does not look cheap. Mix is clever, fun, modern, chic. (Yes! Yes!) Kept his own personality. Captured the allure of Jackie.
Ivy - Elegant, sharp, styling is very Jackie. Interesting, tailored but not in the traditional men's way. (Very true.) Architectural, but perhaps too much detail. Chic, smart. Neckline is great. Best she's had out on the runway.
Andy - Heidi just can't see any Jackie K in it at all. Too tight in the butt, no American sportswear in the silhouette. MC Hammer meets Beverly Hillbillies grandmother. (Oh ouch ouch ouch.) If you're going for a relaxed silhouette, then it should be relaxed. Terrible vest. Trainwreck. Not fitted enough to be fitted and not draped enough to be draped. (Yeah, that top is . . . not good.)
Winner is Mondo!! Yay!! Clear winner, too! I soooo totally agree.
Aufed is Michael D.

Sorry I missed it tonight. BFF came over to schmooze and couldn't get rid of in time. Then was tired.
The S'cubie entry is magnificent, though! My only suggestion would have been Jackie's signature pillbox hat--made from a real pillbox. But she's great as she is!

Jon Stewart was magnificent tonight. www.rallytorestoresanity.com/We're looking for the people who think shouting is annoying, counterproductive, and terrible for your throat; who feel that the loudest voices shouldn't be the only ones that get heard; and who believe that the only time it's appropriate to draw a Hitler mustache on someone is when that person is actually Hitler. Or Charlie Chaplin in certain roles.
Are you one of those people? Excellent. Then we'd like you to join us in Washington, DC on October 30 -- a date of no significance whatsoever -- at the Daily Show's "Rally to Restore Sanity." Ours is a rally for the people who've been too busy to go to rallies, who actually have lives and families and jobs (or are looking for jobs) -- not so much the Silent Majority as the Busy Majority. If we had to sum up the political view of our participants in a single sentence... we couldn't. That's sort of the point. Colbert's counterpoint: www.keepfearalive.com/Sorry I don't have the direct link to the Daily Show bit. I want a bumper sticker that says: "Got Competence?"

Kaylee decided that 1 a.m. was an excellent time to spend 5 minutes or so pawing at her bed. I have to respectfully disagree with her on that one.
