I"m good with anything too. Let's hold off until regular folks weigh in. Lola and Spring usually come by in the evenings and others come and go so I'd get a few more opinions. I'm not sure I count as "regular folks" but I'm in. Sounds like a good idea. Although I'm rather curious as to what the ugliness in Buffy fandom that the blogger referenced in her post. I could be wrong, but I suspect it may have to do with the comics which have become rather distressing. IM me if you want to know more. I've got all the comics, btw, if someone wants to borrow them but ........... not entirely sure I would recommend that.

Have any of you folks who are on Facebook seen the page urging Stephen Colbert to hold a "Restoring Truthiness" rally?

I read a little about it - sounds like a lot of silliness and jumping the gun - do these people not know Joss, after all this time? However, I am soooo bored with the comics that I don't think any developments would get me reading again.

I'm with you and Spring on this one. I read up to a point, but it didn't hold my interest. To be fair, comics are not a format that I'm super-familiar with; I guess I wanted more...more dialogue, more story. Oh, and it to be moving. On TV. The comics were so short, but also missing some of the essentials that I found compelling within the series: the dialogue, the visual aesthetic, the acting. It wasn't dimensional enough for me. Obviously, others mileage may vary. I do enjoy "losing myself" in long-form works, whether they be on TV or between the covers of a book. And perhaps if I had a history of reading comics the form itself would not seem so alien to me.

So, since we're running out of time, Franklin and I went to see Toy Story 3 in 3D this afternoon with Sam and his girl. I hope the other two people in the theater were paying customers.
God I love that movie. I want a Bonnie! and also a Bonnie's mom's house!.
Also went to Costco; I've decided I can't have my Nikon with me in Seattle for logistical reasons, so I was looking for a purse camera. There's a Panasonic 14 megapixel 5X zoom. For $110. No optical range finder, though, damn.
I've been having to shop too much lately; I got new jeans and a pair of dress pants and a shirt and a new big purse this weekend- I don't own jeans that stay up, nor any dress pants whatsoever, and I realized that I'd need a bag big enough for pillboxes, BG meter, and insulin to carry with me in Seattle, and Macy's was having a sale. I got a nice big leather-trimmed lined denim bag with extremely gaudy chain-stitch embroidery, with pockets and stuff in the lining for under $40. We got an unexpected check, so life is less crazy than it was two weeks ago, at least on that level.
Also had a Montana visitor all day.
Sort of refreshing, all around. I'm still vibrating at about 65KHZ though.
Julia, watching Top Chef on repeat until Anna and Franklin get back from the grocery store to watch Terriers.

I'm good with any variation. That the dirty side of your mind talking? Is there any OTHER side to my mind?

Parenthetically, it seems to be heating up again in the form of the S/E vs. S/B shippers of True Blood. What is it about human/vampire relationships on TV that sparks that kind of thing?

Original sin*. [i.e. the tendency of humans to put "me" before anything/everything else; ergo what I want (my nation, my religion, my politics, my team, my preferred ship, is better than yours)]. Ridiculous, sad and even dangerous in extremes. So, IMO, it's not human/vampire relationships that spark this kind of opposition, it seems to be some kind of competitiveness down deep in our souls to want things, possibly everything, MY WAY. *Originally meant to be sarcastic/funny but the more I typed the more I decided it is at least in many cases partially true.

ALL my hearings today have been cancelled because some dimwit scheduled the monitor for two different judges. Now I have to contact EVERYBODY. Plus I have yesterday's docket to finish. Plus I have to get next week's cases routed to their destination. I am not having a good day.

Morning! My partner and I couldn't BUY a one, or sometimes two, putt yesterday during our scramble. But we had some really nice golf shots during our round that will have us coming back. God, I LOVE golf! ;D New Vampire Diaries tonight! I wonder if there is a shipper fandom divide from this show (Pixi would know from her daughter, I bet). They are playing the vampire brothers competition for the human girl's affection thing very subtlety. She has definitely made a choice, but the other brother - the 'bad' one is sooooooooo hot, that how could she resist? And he isn't openly 'in love' with her, but they are close and she is sympathetic to him, as is his brother. The girl's 'twin' is a vampire - an ancestor of hers, that both brothers were involved with in the past (she is evil, so far). So, there is a one to one ratio, of sorts. Very interesting how they are playing this storyline.

That's why I asked if anyone else was interested. ;D The more the merrier, cuz it wouldn't be much fun without a good core group of posters. I'm in!

Love the way you captured those branches in the shot. I miss Vermont. I may have to come visit, with or without the M's, before too long. Love the avatar!
