That's just the thing - I think they should be a little dryer and lighter, but . . . I'm really not sure. I will have to go buy some scones somewhere, I guess. I've had them before, but not often enough, or recently enough, to feel sure about this. Yeah. The one time I tried making them, they came out a bit heavy. The recipes are similar to pie crust or crumb topping in technique. Not much mixing, and you cut/rub the butter into the dry ingredients. I've never tried to perfect them, but it might be worth the effort. When we were in Siesta Key three years ago, we stumbled upon a tea and scone cafe on the beach on the last day we were there. Their scones were awesome. Blueberry. Light and melt in your mouth. Perfect with tea. I wish we would've found the place on the first day. I would've spend every morning there. Bit of England in Florida. The only time I've ever had them come out really well when I was the one making them? Was from a mix. ;D Granted, it was a fancy-pants bakery mix, but still.

HA! I'd forgotten the Rachel narration on Flan's butt. Just called Franklin, he's much better but still getting IV drugs by the score. Julia, almost done with the necessary do-nothing day

Oh, and for the food poisoning, Rachael...did you try apple cider vinegar and charcoal tablets? I hear they work well. Lucas spent the night last night. He loves playing with my Beany Baby bear dracula, Baron Von Pyre. What is the appeal of vampires. He laughs and screams when the Baron tries to suck his blood! Maybe it's the accent. Ha!!! That story makes my fuzzies feel warm. **fluffs Michelle's fuzzies**

Limoncello will definitely make me even happier as I'm rubbing the Alabama win over OSU in your tear-streaked face. What are you trying to say? That would be because Duke is academically superior, therefore, their football team is not as good. I'm not sure how this explains their basketball program though. It's almost as if you can't judge academics by the sports teams, but surely, that is crazy talk. I wore my ruby slippers yesterday. I am very Dorothy - sweet, cute, innocent. That makes the other travelin' Ms the Tin Man, The Scarecrow, and The Lion. I would say you are The Tin Man (heartless), and . . . Michelle is the Cowardly Lion (sorry, Michelle, but one word: Rutabaga!!), and Lola the Scarecrow (brain goes on fritz whenever slash is mentioned). Yes, that does it. And I also resisted any insulting witch references!! Yes, I see what you mean about feeling all good about my maturity. **dances down yellow brick road, bouncing off fences and looking for oiled-up guyz wrestling each other** Whoops! Hope I didn't mess with anyone's wholesome childhood memories.

Happy 38K Lola!(It's so nice when these things happen when I can actually GET to my pretties!) I really like the framing in that last picture; it makes it seem as if Ten is "Free for Public Use."

Indeed. I've spent more time talking on the telephone in the last couple of days than in the past six years, but things are progressing. Julia, yowza.

I sincerely think that at the end of this year's experiment you ought to go through ALL your bird photos and publish a coffee table book with a few hundred of the best. These are as good or better than most of the professional ones I've ever seen outside of National Geographic!
