Some of the pens are clogged with dried-out ink, but he's going to soak them in Rapido cleaner, and with any luck they can be saved. Between that and the estate sale with the costume jewelry and Mexican folkart, this is the most fun I've had in months. It was a good morning, all around. Well, good. Julia, you deserve it. Me, I just ordered $50 worth of socks from Sock Dreams because I'm running out, and won't get to any of my sock-acquisition locations any time before ghe middle of November.

You deserve good things, too. That sock place looks like fun - Kitty and I could get into real trouble there. I got her two pairs of Halloween-ish kneesocks at Joann's, one pair with spiders and webs and the other with tiger stripes in neon colors, and put them in the purse (with skulls, like mine) for her birthday. She's wearing one of each today. I've been cleaning up after my class project, which is finished. Photos in a day or two when I have time to set up a proper background and lights and stuff. Then I might try another conversation heart; if nothing else, I'd really like to get better at machine quilting.

Then I might try another conversation heart; if nothing else, I'd really like to get better at machine quilting. I had to take a couple of weeks to get the order together; they've got all sorts of gorgeous stuff there. I have an entirely irrational longing for what I can only describe as Tango stockings: Cuban heels, toes, and tops in scarlet on very sheer legs. I don't wear stockings, I've avoided sheer stockings for decades, and I don't have the shoes one would need to wear them properly. I got two pairs of very long thick knee socks in lichen green and rust, two pairs of light-weight wool kneesocks in denim blue and gold, and three nifty patterned pairs. Julia, I chose free shipping, so it's a chance to practice delayed gratification, too.

So, Friday this guy from Two Men & A Truck came to my house to give me a quote on moving. And as he's walking around, he spots my Buffy comic books. (He would have spotted my Buffy & Angel DVDs, 'cept I already packed them. ) Anyway, it turns out that he is really into comic books, and he had read the series, so we talked about what we thought of the storyline. I was kind of in heaven, because I have never met someone first IRL that liked the same things I do, and a good-looking man to boot, so that was lots of fun. And then we talked about the Angel comics, and I mentioned how they returned to Dark Horse Comics, and he said, "Wow, you really know your stuff." And I deadpanned, "Oh yeah, I'm a major dork." ;D Good times.

Morning, argh.
Julia, must disable 8am alarm; I can turn it off and go back to sleep, but the dogs take it WAY seriously.

Luxe de luxes: Brie, crackers, and fresh raspberries for lunch.
Julia, thanks to TJ's for the first two, and my back-yard raspberry patch for the third

Fluffycat starts banging politely at the bedroom door around 5AM, alarm or no alarm. Her tummyclock is very accurate. Anne, tired tired tired tired tired *falls over* with not half the good reason you have

But I'm too gracious and supportive to tell you so.

No pics.
So I"ll contribute 2nd hand name-dropping:
Carolyn "knows" (as in, she has spoken with both of them face to face but they probably don't know her name) 2 of the new SNL cast members who came from IO (Improv Olympics): Paul Brittain and Vanessa Bayer who played Johnny Depp and Miley Cyrus if you saw it on Saturday.
And then Allison ate her lunch at a local Whole Foods that is near the office she works in part time and at the table next to her were Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman.
Me? I spend my day with dry-wallers, painters, plumbers, contractors and electricians -- all vital in their own ways.
Off to Chicago in the morning.
