OMG, at this rate, we are never going to get to "all present and accounted for." I am even wondering if your shoes are shined, your shirts are tucked in, and your beds are made. Fuzzy slippers, t-shirt, comforter pulled over sheets just enough to keep the cathair out of the bed. Bite me.

ERINNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!! SHANNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!How are you, sweetie? Good. Kinda tired. Been trying to get the house in decent order before the s-u-r-g-e-r-y at the end of the month (sshhh, lalalalala). It desperately needs it but I'm even more a-panic since my sister might be coming to visit at Thanksgiving. How about you?

Working on job applications and reading my head off for the thesis. I really need to stop soon.

So, Friday this guy from Two Men & A Truck came to my house to give me a quote on moving. And as he's walking around, he spots my Buffy comic books. (He would have spotted my Buffy & Angel DVDs, 'cept I already packed them. ) Anyway, it turns out that he is really into comic books, and he had read the series, so we talked about what we thought of the storyline. I was kind of in heaven, because I have never met someone first IRL that liked the same things I do, and a good-looking man to boot, so that was lots of fun. And then we talked about the Angel comics, and I mentioned how they returned to Dark Horse Comics, and he said, "Wow, you really know your stuff." And I deadpanned, "Oh yeah, I'm a major dork." ;D Good times. Hehe! Love it when that happens.

No pics. So I"ll contribute 2nd hand name-dropping: Carolyn "knows" (as in, she has spoken with both of them face to face but they probably don't know her name) 2 of the new SNL cast members who came from IO (Improv Olympics): Paul Brittain and Vanessa Bayer who played Johnny Depp and Miley Cyrus if you saw it on Saturday. And then Allison ate her lunch at a local Whole Foods that is near the office she works in part time and at the table next to her were Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman.Me? I spend my day with dry-wallers, painters, plumbers, contractors and electricians -- all vital in their own ways. Off to Chicago in the morning. Shut the front door! Enjoy Chicago!

Eh, so I mentioned it above in a post to Erin, but I thought I'd let the S'cubes know I am having thyroid surgery on October 25th. At a regular checkup in July, my doctor noticed some swelling on my neck and had me go for blood tests, which came back indicating an overactive thyroid. I had an ultrasound done to find out why it's overactive and they discovered some cysts, which I then had biopsied via fine needle aspiration. Unfortunately, the results were "inconclusive" so now I have to go have half of the thyroid removed to be more comprehensively biopsied. There's a quick test they can do while I'm still under for the surgery. That test will either come back "inconclusive" again or "positive for cancer cells", in which case they'll go right back in and remove the rest of my thyroid. If it's "inconclusive" again, they'll do a different test on what they took out. If it comes back negative, I can go home. If it comes back positive, I'll have to go back into surgery the next day to have the rest of the thyroid removed. The treatment is simple: no radiation or chemotherapy, just one radioactive iodine pill and I should be done except for having to take replacement thyroid hormones for ever and ever. So that's pretty much all the news *I* have.

The Good: GHC covers Franklin's home visits from PT 100% The Bad: my lower back is not happy at all and as a result, neither am I. Julia, ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch.

Julia, we are the champions, and all that.

I'm here. You can see that I still read the board almost every day, even if I don't post.
