I haven't exactly slayed the usefuls today, although I did drive the Younger Daughter to school because I was going erranding at the right time, and she was feeling a bit off due to Punctual Blues. I worked my way through two more book kits, little ribbon-bound "albums" (more like memo books, if you ask me) and three accordion-paged books in different sizes. Tomorrow maybe I'll tackle the linen tape journal kit. I'm having fun, and at least I'll have a small stash of emergency gifts when I'm done (although I intend to keep something out of the pile, if it calls to me). Oh, and I managed to run both the monthly and weekly Hodgman maintenance while the rest of the family was out of the house, which is a feat in itself. Go me. PS Apparently, you can now sign onto our forum using an ID from some other "social network". There are all sorts of little icons above the login box. Maybe I'll test it out later. PPS Since the alternate login wanted assorted personal info from my other network accounts... I'll pass, thanks.

Today I got a flu shot (so did Franklin and Anna) and did a whole lot of grocery shopping.
I also found that with a high-extraction washer and properly installed drier vent, it takes 40 minutes to dry six over-sized bath towels, as opposed to oh, never before.
Julia, so, useful, yes.

I am sitting in the silent study area, and there is a noise. It's a lot louder than the typing noise though it shares a certain random rattle quality. It appears to be from a box in the corner that pipes run into. It's probably just an effect of the pipes vibrating, but it sounds like an industrious and very large rodent is scrabbling to get out. Not very much like, but I haven't had very much sleep, so.
I have an exam on Thursday. I am increasingly convinced I will have nothing useful to say in the exam on Thursday. I now have two days to do studying. I tried studying all half term and didn't get a whole lot of use out of it. So I'm not optimistic.
Mum reminds me that the lowest mark I ever got here was the 58% for the essay that said Battleship Potemkin needs more zombies. I don't think that's very helpful though. It's always possible to set a new record.
The 18th century does not need more zombies. It needs a plot. And some characters. And, really most sincerely, punctuation.

I do so love to celebrate these small, but essential, victories in life. There are so darn many small annoyances that it's nice to take note of the small pleasures.

Good morning! I voted....and also in the Mid-Term Elections. Well, actually I did that last week by mail. I am taking a half day for golf since it's so nice out and we aren't very busy in the office. Been a few weeks, so it'll be interesting to see how that goes.
