*facepalm* I knew I was forgetting a name! Sorry about the shoulder woes. Been there. You always get a hug! They're free, but never easy. Must run to pick up mom's prescriptions and off to her house to walk the Zakster. That dog is the only dog I know that can consciously deceive. I swear he's a decepticon. He fibs! He actually fakes going to do his business so he can get us to walk in the direction of home. Of course, he ain't smart enough to know that we're not buying it. Needless to say, walking him is always an adventure. More so now that it's raining. *sigh* He hates the rain. Like I adore walking around the town in the rain waiting for him to poop. Dude. I just assumed that "S'cubies" encompassed all of us, so I was just claimin' my share! I just used this awesome stuff made locally and it helped a lot. And hee! Dogs are so much smarter than they appear....and a little dumber, too.

I think it's the little ones that you have to watch. ;D

I've been meaning to share this (and I hope she isn't too embarassed, but I think it's pretty good) - The Elder Daughter has a blog: Ephemeral CuriosSome of the photos are hers, some are things she found. Neat! I love the look of the blog. Nicely done.

Quick update because I'm exhausted: Peanut's ultrasound was inconclusive. The doctor saw some suspicious spots on his liver, so they did a biopsy of it. Supposed to hear back in 48 hours from that. Peanut had a seizure about 4pm. He stopped breathing for a minute but they were able to resuscitate him. We're hoping it was just from the stress of everything that happened today. He seemed freaked and exhausted once they got him stable, but otherwise okay. I took him to an overnight emergency care clinic so that he could be monitored tonight. Please don't stop sending the good healing vibes. I'm so distraught because he was actually acting like he felt better. And I hated leaving him with people I don't know, but it was the best thing for him. I'm off to try to get some sleep. Love you guys. Of course. Keep us posted.

So, Mom called me during Glee (!!!!) to tell me that Kaylee chased a bear off the lawn this evening. Dad took her outside so she could take care of business before bedtime while he grabbed the bird feeders to bring them inside. Why would he have been doing this in the first place? Because bird feeders tend to attract bears. Anyway, Kaylee saw the bear before Dad did and took off running and barking; the bear, in turn, got the hell out of Dodge pronto. Kaylee did come right back when he called her name and whistled, though, so all's well. Whoa. Brave dog. Chicken bear. ;D I'm glad she and your dad are okay. Bears are tricky.

Done with my wee run of Patti-itis. Now it's off to downtown where I will be all day evaluating some of the most boring cases evah. I can't complain too much because I do get paid for it. A bit. ;D Hopefully, everyone's day will be bright and smooth.

Maybe a little foolish since bear must have been several times her weight, but brave doggie just the same.

Crackers. I am supposed to make a Fire Escape Plan for the house, for Children's Services. So far, I have made my floor plan, both floors, in Excel. It's not exactly to scale, but it's plenty good enough. It shows the doors and windows. OK. So . . . now what? I guess it's time to google "Fire Escape Plans" or something. They gave me so little guidance, just said to "attach the plan." I've seen them in hotels, and of course, the best one was in Niagara Falls, ONT, when we stayed during the Fireman's Convention (I felt so safe!!), but I can't expect to hold a Fireman's Convention in my house every night. Sounds like a plan! All I I know is, two exit choices for any room. Oh! And you can buy these small folded up hanging steps/ladder things for top story windows. You hang it over the window sill if there is a fire and can climb down. Also? Mmmmm. Fireman's Convention. Where do you get them? I live on the second storey and that would be a good thing to have.

S'cubies Sara, Kaylee is a brave and mighty dog, and I hope your family stays far, far away from bears from now on. Monnie and Peanut, am continuing good vibes until further notice. Better Half, Anyone I missed, assume vibes, hugs and whateverelse you need. EveryS'cubie who commented in re Emily's blog, thank you, and I've passed your compliments on to her. She blushed, but I think she was pleased. I think the kettle is about to whistle; I must go and make tea. Later, S'cubies.
