So, Peanutty is still at the clinic on IV fluids and meds. He's slowly doing better--a bit perkier each day. No vomiting or diarrhea for several days (though really, he only vomited once last week). He's had no fever since Friday, and that's without steroids, thank goodness. We're only feeding him and giving him water in very small amounts at a time because we don't want to upset his stomach again and also because we fear his enlarged liver has restricted the space in his esophagus. I'm taking him tomorrow morning at 10:00am to the specialist for his ultrasound. Please wish us good news. We've all appreciated everyone's good thoughts and vibes and we ask that you don't stop. I'll let ya'll know what we find out when I get a chance.

So, the big news today is that it will be the 26th of January before the days will be longer than they are today.
Julia, taking my encouragement where I find it, or making it up if I have to.

Allison has a phone interview tomorrow at 3 central with IJM (International Justice Mission).
It is for a 5 month unpaid fellowship in DC but is EXACTLY what she wants to do long term for a career: marries film with international with justice.
From their website:
International Justice Mission is a human rights agency that secures justice for victims of slavery, sexual exploitation and other forms of violent oppression. IJM lawyers, investigators and aftercare professionals work with local officials to ensure immediate victim rescue and aftercare, to prosecute perpetrators and to promote functioning public justice systems.
» Victim Relief » Perpetrator Accountability » Victim Aftercare » Structural Transformation
And this is the first year they've offered a film fellowship.
[Her Uncle Tim has actually met the head of the organization, as has my decorator friend from church (her son was imprisoned in Nicaragua) -- but I doubt that he is involved in the hiring process and I just don't think it's the kind of place where you try to pull strings.]
Vibes appreciated.

Awwww, thanks, ya'll. It does my heart good to know Peanut's got the S'cubies rooting for him. I wish you all could meet him. He really is the sweetest little guy and has so much personality and warmth about him. I spent the night at the clinic last night just because I wanted to spend some extra time with him alone. That old sofa in our lounge killed my back and shoulders, but it was worth it to know he got a really good night's sleep. Here's a pic I took of him yesterday afternoon when he was passed out next to me: He loves to sleep on his back, hence the spread eagle position. ;D
