Allison has a phone interview tomorrow at 3 central with IJM (International Justice Mission). It is for a 5 month unpaid fellowship in DC but is EXACTLY what she wants to do long term for a career: marries film with international with justice. From their website: International Justice Mission is a human rights agency that secures justice for victims of slavery, sexual exploitation and other forms of violent oppression. IJM lawyers, investigators and aftercare professionals work with local officials to ensure immediate victim rescue and aftercare, to prosecute perpetrators and to promote functioning public justice systems. » Victim Relief » Perpetrator Accountability » Victim Aftercare » Structural Transformation And this is the first year they've offered a film fellowship. [Her Uncle Tim has actually met the head of the organization, as has my decorator friend from church (her son was imprisoned in Nicaragua) -- but I doubt that he is involved in the hiring process and I just don't think it's the kind of place where you try to pull strings.] Vibes appreciated. Oh, that sounds wonderful. I'll be vibing for her.

Vibe-iness is in the package, and being sent to Allie and to Monnie/Peanut. Also for Monnie, for a bit of cheering after the struggles of the past few days: (It's from a website of different motivational posters from TV etc.) Attachments:

And thanks, Monnie, for getting the new part. I would have done, but I woke up (after stupidly falling asleep on the floor on my right arm) with the most excruciating shoulder blade pain I've ever had. It KILLED all night and most of this morning, until my mom put this cream on it and it felt better.
I don't like this "getting older" crap. Especially since being young wasn't that fun either. Grr.

Sounds like a gig that is very perfect for her! Vibes sent! Ditto!

If this wind storm keeps me from watching Lie to Me or Hawaii Five-0 I'm going to be very dissapointed with the whole meteorological genre.
Julia, v. weird gusty storm, here.

It's still morning here. *sighs* Sending such vibes as I can to everybody, everybody's children and everybody's dog(s). Very uncomfortable this morning. First time in a week having problems with surgical site. When IS this thing going to stop? I'm really over it.

It's still morning here. *sighs* feebly It's still dark here. Can I go back to bed? There were alarums 1 and excursions 2 last night, and I'm so sleep-deprived and exhausted I feel like I'm gonna . 11:30AM, Kitty comes knocking at our bedroom door. She got up to get a glass of milk and thought she'd heard a smoke alarm. Turned out to be a little digital alarm clock Paul keeps in the lumber room, gone berserk and beeping its little heart out. 24:30AM, Patches commenced inquiring as to the ETA of her breakfast. Since the radio comes on at 4:50 anyway, I just laid there and let her fling herself at the bedroom door for twenty minutes.

It's dark and rainy and Jim made a comment about it being a good morning to roll over and go back to slept (as he left) so that's what I did, figuring I's wake up in 30 or 40 minutes. 2 1/2 hours later ..... well, I guess I needed the sleep but there went the morning. Still when you get that one day in 30 with no workers, no appointments, no church, no pickup at the airport. Wouldn't trade with Anne and will NEVER get cats! Or, only cats that are genetically bred to eat at night.

Or, only cats that are genetically bred to eat at night. I wouldn't get rid of my kitties, they're family. The problem is, they're on a diet because when they were free-fed, they ate and ate and ate and Patches turned into a fluffy blimp. She'll eat anything, any time, anywhere... I offered her some steamed broccoli last week. She ate it and asked for more. Silly beast. So I feed them twice a day, every twelve hours, because if I fed them once, Shadow would bolt her food and throw it back up. She still does that sometimes, but it isn't quite as bad.
