Ok gang, I’m reaching out to the interwebtubes for the use of your collective brain. A friend of mine is in a singing group that has a gig singing for a conference of natural resources types. So she’s looking for songs with birds or animals or nature or hunting or, etc. etc. Got ideas? Post ‘em and I’ll pass ‘em along! Ta, ever so! Blackbird, by the Beatles Mockingbird, by Grant Lee Buffalo Those are the two that spring to mind right now. More excellent ideas! Thanks!

There's more, I'm sure, once my brain gets a chance to process.

Just wanted to say something that's waaaaaaaaaaay overdue... Thank you so much for all of your support, comments, and compliments over the course of my photography project. You've been there for me every step of the way, with encouragement, praise, and reassurance every time I needed it. When I saw you guys talking last week about sponsoring photos if I wanted to enter them in that NatGeo contest, I almost started crying at my desk—it really meant the world to me. I don't know what I did to deserve having such amazing friends in my life, and not a day goes by that I'm not grateful for all of you. Again, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Dude. You rock so hard, you don't even know.

It is cute. But I wonder how a whistle can be both "pleasant" AND "loud." Have you never met Monnie? THAT'S why we love you!

Just off the top of my head, Froggy Went A Courting, The Bear Went Over the Mountain, The Fox... And the one I used to sing to Emily when she was tiny, All The Little Chickens in the Garden.

Ooh, the "Superchicken" Theme. And also The "Boo" theme from Animaniacs.
I also recall another song from Animaniacs in a Thanksgiving skit...making fun of Daniel Boone and hunting, I think?
Oh, and Mary Had A Little Lamb.

What antihypertensive does he take? Some of them are pretty benign when skipped (diuretics, for one instance, although it's best to be really cagy about salt intake if you're skipping those), skipping others (beta blockers, especially) can precipitate migraines, and Clonidine and allied drugs are never to be skipped ever because of ferocious rebound hypertension. I know these things because of the Great Missoula Deer Adventure, when I was short by two days of getting home with meds and had to wangle a one-week script for bunch o'meds out of nonintersecting pharmacies. Julia, it is not impossible to do so and best to do it right. He takes half of a lisinopril/hydrocholorthiazide, so it's partly a diuretic. It's a really small dose, for what that's worth. I'll nag him tonight about it, because maybe he found the pillbox from last time in his travel kit. If that's not the case, I don't know what we'll do; by the time I could wade through our HMO system and try to convince them to talk to me, get back to him, and find the right pharmacy somewhere in Maryland, he'd probably be home anyway. I was so busy making sure he remembered the cell phone and the charger, and put them in the right places (although he may yet have left the phone on the seat of his car, like last time), that I completely forgot to nag about his pills. I have lists of things like this or I forget them all the time. I forgot, because it's a once-in-a-blue-moon thing, to take the compact fluouresents to recycle at IKEA yesterday. Julia, at least I've managed to get all of my pills except two noncritical ones moved to breakfast or dinner time, so going out in the day doesn't take so much luggage.
