Welcome to the Soulful Spike Society Main Thread Part 1115. What can I say? We're smart, tough, and insightful. If I do say so myself.
We've got more insights that you can throw a bolt of lightening at. Take TV, for instance. In our I Love, Love, LOVE TV thread we've got all sorts of insightful discussion. And if that wasn't enough? We've even show threads for Torchwood, Doctor Who, Dollhouse, and the ongoing Whedon 'fest that is the S3.
Want some smart fic, pics, or reviews? Check out the The S3 Website!
We will get tough (grr! argh!) about spoilers on the main board. Spoilers belong in the Spoiled Souls thread; if you want to talk about casting spoilers, the little ghosty button above is for you and if you want to talk about a show that just aired, please mark in BIG LETTERS.
Finally, we've got smart insights about tough subjects in our Open Topics Thread. Your opinion might not mesh with someone else's, but we strive for a sane discussion.
Wait! Where are you going? I was going to make espresso!

In case this was missed from the previous part: Signs You and Your Friends Have Too Much Time to Think About Things:Photo and Caption below on Facebook that prompted the following exchange with friend Mike: Caption by Mike: Greedo was more complicated than anyone ever suspected. Diane: Nobody ever said Greedo was a MALE. All we knew was he/she/it worked for Jabba the Hutt, was a killer for hire and was apparently a little slow on the draw. Mike: Well gender identification issues aside, I am concerned about Greedo's approach to selecting footwear for his job and environment. Greedo is a bounty hunter that is on a desert planet. As anyone knows walking in pumps in the sand can lead to a nasty twisted ankle. Greedo casts caution to the wind in favor of fashion. A lack of prudence on his part disturbs me. Diane: I'm sure Greedo would have appreciated your concern, but since he/she/it was hunting in town where the streets were paved, and since the shoes in querstion have stocky rather than spike heels, and Greedo was, after all, indoors at the cantina and rather than stalking in the dunes; and since Greedo was sitting at the time of his/her/its demise, the sartorial faux pas could probably be dismissed as moot.

>snip for stuff we all know<
Comic Sans? How post ironic can you get. 1 Advent, and so the R family, or the part of it that lives in this house, is off to church. I've gotten my exersize this morning by moving my phone every time I find it, finding it too late to turn off the alarm clock, and yes, moving it again. Aerobic dumbth. Julia, so very yawnie.

#wavey#
today I failed to get out of bed before 1500, after waking up at 0900, purely because I couldn't think of a single thing I wanted to do.
I spent an hour looking up events and classes and groups and stuff without really fixing this problem.
I could do yoga, or bellydance, or 'bollywood' dance, or meditation, or maybe book groups but they meet every six weeks if they get around to it, or... well, that was about all I came up with, really. It's not a very inspirational list. And the dancing costs about £5 per hour long class once a week.
I just need to meet people and do talking and possibly make friends. At the moment the only people who talk to me in 3D are paid to do so.

H5O now has Zombie, Werewolf (or "shapeshifter") and vampire AUs, plus SGA, Star Trek, Highlander, Moonlight, and Lilo and Stitch crossovers. So much for observing the de novo development of a normal fandom. Julia, oy with the aliens already

Checking in, S'cubes!I had a good holiday- 18 people was the final count. I have a largish dining room, but it was still quite a challenge figuring out how I was going to fit them all in. But it worked out just fine. I think the holidays are going to be OK. I am still working on all the fostering stuff, so that helps too. Hope you all had a great T-day. =========== We aren't doing Secret Santa, but let me encourage everyone to post "items wanted" and corresponding "gifts," or just any old gifts, informally on this main thread, through the holidays!

I am going to start off by posting an "item wanted" - as always, it can be anything - I know we can count on S'cubie imagination to come up with some kind of "postable version" of whatever is asked for . . . OK . . . my first wish list item is . . . A new boss!!Anyone interested, please post a wish list item, or try to fulfill a wish list item, anytime!

So I had a wonderful party last night courtesy of Rich and Jason. They cooked a Dim Sum Dinner for me and baked me a mocha crunch birthday cake. Our friends came over and we had a wonderful night. Thank you Rich and Jason!

Well, uh, wow. EeK The building holding Anna's jobsite burned down last night. They were supposed to move out closer to here before Christmas anyway, but not the best way to get time off.
Julia, eek, eek, eek.
